Truly an excellent choice. Having stayed at over 14 different locations around South Africa this last month this was refreshing. The chalets was comfortable and had everything we needed. We were gutted to stay just one night as we did not want to leave.
We were urged to stay at the ATKV but decided to try this. True, the pool and hot (ish?) pool is small but the zebra’s, giraffes and other animals wandering through the chalets made up for any of it. It was also quiet and relaxing. So if you want fun, higher energy stay i would go across the road to Klein Kariba but if you want truly relaxing and enjoying a quiet fire, animals etc then this is it.

The idea of the place is really nice. The upkeep and the overall state of the estate could be better. We were in chalet 16, where the bathroom has a strong odor and the sink is leaking. Chalet 17 & 18 were unfinished and full with burned waste, which made chalet 16 feel a bit unsafe. The zebra’s around the chalet was great, the kids loved it. You had to bring your own towels, for a place being just as expensive as a 4-star hotel, it did not live up to the expectations.

I booked a weekend away for our daughter and her partner as a birthday surprise.
They have nothing but praise for their whole experience.
A spa treatment was included and a 5 star lunch, all well above expectations.
Highly recommend.

The experience was amazing. However they should make the board signage from the main road bigger so that you don't miss. Otherwise it was perfect and family enjoyed

Amazing especially when the animals pass nearby the chalet. And the place itself is so welcoming and it has peace of mind.

A great place to relax
A very nice place, very peaceful, the daily house keeping not entirely happy with, they clean on request and that cleaning does not include bedroom 😭😭, beautiful scenery with animals moving around, house equipment with all the necessities needed for a comfortable stay

Only spent 1 night here, arrived late. The manager was friendly and helpful. It's rustic but spotlessly clean, quiet and peaceful. We woke to find giraffes and zebras feeding within 20m of our chalet. The breakfast was great! Would recommend this place to anyone. The only negative I can think of is that it was difficult to find the entrance in the dark. We called the manager and he directed us to the location. It's a hidden gem!
