OK Motel

This is a motel, not a "lodge" . As so it's a basic (yet ok) motel in a very small location. Ok to crash for a night, not more.

This lodge is in the perfect location to access Mt Rainier National Park from both the West and East entrances. The lodge is family owned and run, and the owners were very welcoming! The decorations are adorable and very fitting for the area. It is very quiet and peaceful. We will stay again the next time we are visiting Rainier.

The walls are thin! We had a neighbor who kept the television on all night. Great place for our dog—big field surrounds the hotel. Also saw a herd of moose grazing in the morning. Good proximity to Mt. Rainier park.

Amazing!!!

Cowlitz River Lodge was a place of refuge for my son and I. It was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. I love the fact that there was a sink with a mirror outside of the bathroom. The lobby was extremely helpful. It had cold water for our water bottles, tea and hot water. I even enjoyed a bag of popcorn my first night there. I would recommend the cowlitz River Lodge to anybody that is going up to Mount Rainier. The national park is only 10 to 15 minutes from there. The lodge is also near a gas station and market. There are also a couple restaurants that are open late if you need them after coming back from the national park.

Great quiet and comfortable place

Amazingly quiet and comfortable lodge with a great lobby, spacious rooms and super host. An added bonus were elk and baby in the backyard in the morning. Limited dining choices downtown but the basics are there as well as a great brewery restaurant and ice cream airstream.
