Start Hostel is a great place to stay flying in and out of Keflavik. The staff is great - so helpful. With all of us going in and out, they still keep it so clean.

I was really surprised by how comfortable the bed was for a hostel, we rested really good after our 7h flight, also very close to the airport highly recommend

It was a perfect base from which to explore the Keflavik area. I hiked from the hostel all the way to the lighthouse on some nice four wheeler and horse trails, and got to take a couple dips in the ocean before and after the eclipse. Also visited some of the local grocery stores to stock up on Icelandic candy. The price was also very reasonable. Highly recommend.

Cozy beds, shared kitchen okay. There is free coffee but you have to make it yourself. The bedroom floor was dirty. They accepted check-in at 1AM during the night in a shared dorm. It says you can checked-in until 23:30 on the site but they don't respect this rule. Good if you are planning to come in late but for the other guests that's a disrespect.

I highly recommend this hostel. Staying at a hostel is not something I've done, but this was a lovely experience. The staff are helpful and cheerful and kind. The place is clean and well equipped and filled with homey joy. It was exactly what I needed as a female traveling alone with a long layover in Iceland. I would definitely repeat this experience.

The staff were fantastic, checking in at two am and being greeted enthusiastically. Everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast buffet was quite good and starting at four am is a bonus for anyone leaving early. I would definitely recommend this hotel/hostel.
