We love this little place in the mountains in Yoshino - the family / the lady in charge is absolutely wonderful and super hard working. It’s our second stay at this lovely inn and we will come back. Ps please note that check in is strictly at 3pm and if you want their lovely dinner you have to pre book. Highly recommended!

Stunning location, stylish and comfortable interior. Even the futons were comfortable and exceeded our expectations! The evening meal was exceptional by any standards - beautifully presented and quite simply delicious. The staff were always friendly and attentive and we would recommend this Ryokan without hesitation.

Un petit peu difficile d'accès (15/20 minutes de montée depuis la gare), inconvénient largement compensé par un cadre magnifique. Ryokan atypique, expérience inoubliable !

Friendly and accommodating
The hotel has a good location. Its Japanese setting and surrounding have fulfilled my expectation. We didnot pre-ordered our dinner but the hotel management is kind enough to prepare dinner after our request.
The room is spacious and the amentities are good.

The hotel is clean very nice location and onsen. The owner is adorable and proposed to drive us to the supermarket as we didn't book for dinner. Yoshino is beautiful. Will come again!

Rustic log cabin style Ryokan
Great experience after a communication issue at the beginning. It is worth noting that in low season most restaurants in Yoshino will be closed or wil close early, so plan to eat at your Ryokan for all breakfast & dinner meals. The meals prepared at Ryokan Kato were excellent, a real experience in local cuisine. Having breakfast across that road in their seperate restaurant with excellent views across the valley started the day nicely. We were fortunate to have the hot baths to ourselves which were great after a long day of dragging our kids up the hills of Yoshino. We loved the sitting/reading area with the swing hanging from the ceiling and the traditional lamps, very relaxing. Yoshino is worth the extra train rides and Kato was perfect for us. Thank you.

Fantastic location, very comfortable stay.
This hotel was extremely comfortable and good value. The location was fantastic for us, as we arrived and left Hiroshima by train and did 2 day trips using the train, so being right next to the station was amazingly convenient. Lots of shops nearby too. Very comfortable room, not bad size for Japan, and with every amenity you could ask for...toothbrushes, hairdryer, TV, Wi-Fi, kettle, fridge. Really good. Would love to go back sometime.
