Indoor pool was nice, at times it got very crowded and some of the kids were a little to “ old “ to be playing especially with the smaller crowd. Our room had a horrible mold/mildew smell coming from the AC unit. Room 120. We stayed in the room 2 nights and one of my kids got very sick. They changed rooms for us with kindness, but the lack of concern for the safety of that room concerned me. The beds were clean and very comfortable. The indoor pool area was really hot and smelled very strongly of chlorine. The pancake machine from the breakfast bar was out of service our entire stay. The market by the front desk was completely empty save for some cheap water from Sam’s club and a few energy drinks. Over all the hotel felt like management didn’t care about the hotel conditions. The entire staff we encountered was fantastic, kind, caring and quick to resolve issues. Next time we are in gatlinburg, this is not the hotel we will use. Which is sad, as normally Holiday Inn express locations are fabulous and we always enjoy our stay.
