Property needs some general upkeep and clean up around the grounds. Rooms were fine but lacked any extras. Beds were comfortable, with different pillow options. We had to request and pay for a coffee station that only included 2 instant coffee packets for a 4 day stay. Courtyard was nice, but messy and apparently right next to a staff use area that had constant noise from some sort of carts being pushed back and forth. This started very early each morning. No air-conditioning, which you understand with older buildings, but there were also no fans. Our only option was to open the door and windows, which brought moths and bugs in. Staff was borderline rude. Made no effort to be helpful and acted put out when we asked questions or for more coffee packs. Also asked us to leave at 5 minutes past the alloted breakfast time when we were sipping our final coffee and finishing the last bites of food. Paid breakfast was great the first day we were there, when they had many guests (a weekend that included some sort of large reception). The following days, the food was cold and not refilled (during the week when less guests were there). The showers in the 2 rooms we had were horrible. Incredibly small openings, large step up, and nothing to use to support yourself climbing in and out. All 4 of us, of various ages, sizes, and fitness, felt unsafe and dreaded using them.
