The wagons are bigger than they look. Our family of five fit perfectly. Luggage storage is below the bed and there is outside storage too. The private bathroom is a VERY short walk and was nice and clean. The boys loved the pool, corn hole, and the swings. We roasted hot dogs over the fire. During the day the wagon gets pretty warm but I spent time on a pool chair reading a book and taking a nap in the shade.

Adventures

Traveling with grandchildren and thought sleeping in a covered wagon would be a fun experience, which it was. I appreciated the private bathroom just not the walk to get to it. The wind storm made me imagine what it must have been like as a pioneer travling across the country. The wagon was very comfortable and beds were great.

Okay for a one night stay but definitely not a 9.2 as rated on Hotels. com. Clean and roomy yes. Refurbished roadside motel but it’s like putting lipstick on a pig. Noisy, wind comes in windows and light comes in windows at night. Door needs weather stripping. Light comes through in daytime so it’s not sealed. Hot tub did not run. Hot water but no pressure in jets. We had a strange chirping coming through the vent in the restroom. Like a battery was low on a smoke detector but no smoke detector inside the vent. Reported to front desk but not corrected during our stay. Breakfast was ok as long as you don’t mind watery eggs. I’d give this place a 5 rating out of 10 to be honest.

Overall I had a pleasant stay. The only disappointing aspect was the fact that the hot tub was out of service and I didn’t find out until I went to use it and saw the sign. It would have been nice to be told about it upon check in so I didn’t go in looking forward to a good soak only to be disappointed.

Well enjoyed

Enjoyed our stay at the broken spur. Breakfast buffet was good, service and staff was great. The bed was comfortable but pillows were okay. Microwave appeared quite old. Overall we were happy with our choice.

Really nice, clean room and on-site restaurant

Clean, comfortable room with cute western-themed decor. Loved the long wooden bench in our room to put all our stuff on. The on-site restaurant was good if a little pricey. Our meals were totally worth the price we paid. Location is kind of in the middle of nowhere but minutes from Capital Reef NP. I wholeheartedly recommend this location. The people were very nice and “folksy”. The eggs served for the free breakfast were watery but that is my only negative about this stay. There is no elevator.

Stay in a wagon

We stayed in a wagon and it was so cute and fun! Great amenities and comfortable. The bathroom was nice as well. The food at the restaurant was good and the biscuits were delicious. The only disappointment was no biscuits for breakfast!

Capitol Reef Trip

Tiny bathroom, old needs some updating. The rest was ok for a night. The breakfast was, well I don’t usually eat breakfast, especially this particular morning. The person working there took our appetite away. He must have had a cold. 👎 Although he wore gloves he kept sneezing and blowing his nose. Never changing his gloves. There was also a rodent in the bathroom wall. I heard it scratching all night.

Unique stay in a wagon

“We’re staying in one of the wagons!?!?” Was with my 14-year-old son said when I led him to wack number five. Definitely a memory maker. Check in staff were really great, and it’s really nice that breakfast is included with your stay. Only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because we really didn’t spend much time here, choosing to spend all of our time at Capitol Reef Nationals Park instead. Might be a little costlier than other options around, but well worth it for the memories.

We stayed in the wagons. They have heaters and AC. It was a very cold night outside so it was still cold in our wagon, but the kids still loved it. The private bathrooms were convenient and cleaned daily.
