We arrived early hoping our room would be available. It was...$55 for early check-in. You're kidding, right?! Then we were advised there is now a $16 PER NIGHT parking fee for guests (I do not recall seeing that when I made the reservation).What?! We're guests for God's sake! And over 65! Was told per NEW OWNERS, again? No screens on sliders (told they only had 5 in the whole motel), same rattling a/c units from at least 30 years ago, same refrigerator from at least 30 years ago. They were in the room, not working, but still there. They had a mini fridge plugged in under the coat rack. Toilet was so low, I took a picture of our small, stand-up cooler and placed it beside it for comparison. Recently having knee surgery, tough to do what one needs to do on this low toilet. Husband over 6'. Also, we were on the 3rd (top) floor. Not easy to get up there either, but that was my fault when I made the reservation, I guess, not noting the 3rd floor. Toaster now gone, cheap coffee maker in the room, coffee in the lobby is terrible ("New" machine), had silverware...4 knives and 1 spoon. Dishwashing liquid, but two towels and no washcloth, had to use a paper towel. I keep giving them a chance, year after year. But instead of improvement, I only see the condition of the rooms getting worse, not better. And... although the view is what kept us coming back, the bay is covered with rental kayaks. Such a shame. This was our little diamond in the rough, but it is quickly turning to coal :(
