Beautiful building but a terrible nights sleep.

The Selina here has great potential but was a let down. A mattress with no support, creaky floorboards, thin walls, and poor quality windows meant we found it very tricky to sleep with all the noise that went until 2am, and then started again at 6am. Lovely location, friendly staff, and decent food, but if you want to be able to sleep, consider staying elsewhere.

Looks just like it did in the pictures. They play loud music which can get annoying at times. They usually stop before 11pm. Drinks are overpriced and food is okay. There is a breakfast place up the street to the right. You will need other options. Also they have heaters so request one. Overall 4/5

We booked a room with a private bathroom. When we arrived, we were told that we would have to use a shared bathroom. We immediately changed locations, but the property still charged us full price. The receipt clearly showed the room was booked with a private bathroom, but the guy at the desk said that recent rain had caused a shortage of rooms. He apologized, but still charged me full price.

escolhemos um quarto que chamam de unique e, pelo preço, esperávamos algo mais tranquilo e silencioso. infelizmente, o hotel é barulhento, mesmo após 10pm - pessoas conversam o tempo todo e o quarto não é à prova de som. além disso, o café da manhã, que estava incluso para a nossa categoria de quarto, era sofrível, ruim mesmo. escolhemos o selina porque nossa experiência en berlin foi excelente, mas não indico o de bogotá. único ponto alto: a localização do hotel é uma das melhores da cidade e, nesse quesito, fomos muito felizes!

Avis aux voyageurs réservant un lit dans le petit dortoir (celui de 8 lits, 14m2) C'est petit on dirait un placard! Vous ne trouverez pas de photo de ce dortoir sur Internet, les seules photos existantes sont les dortoirs de 6 lits (+ grand + d'espace + de hauteur sous plafond) Et pour cause, le petit dortoir n'a pas de hauteur sous plafond, n'a pas de fenêtre, certains murs pourrissent à cause de l'humidité, il n'y a pas vraiment d'espace pour les sacs et valises, et il donne directement sur la cuisine commune.. Photo ci-contre. À éviter donc, préférez les plus grands dortoirs un tout petit peu plus cher. La cuisine commune de cette hostel n'est pas vraiment équipée, très peu de vaisselle et pas de verres et tasses du tout.. Sinon à part ça le personnel est sympa et arrangeant et le bâtiment est très beau, classé monument historique.

I found it incredible that a kitche was advertized but there were no cups or plates anywhere to be seen, and the staff at the restaurant refused to give us cups. All we wanted was to make some tea and we could even do that using the shared kitchen. They told us to go buy cups.

For a hostel it was expected that problems would arise but for one there was no water for 24 hours because the city is under water restrictions but it would have been nice to know. In addition there was hot water only 3/5 nights, they had no tvs but only hdmi for people who had lap tops, when we asked for Apple TV as their sign promoted they did not have such thing. They did not do daily housekeeping as I paid for in a private room therefore no new towels either, as the shower door did not close and water kept spilling out onto our bathroom floor. The front desk knew minimal English and did not have good directions to anything. Music was on till 11pm so just be aware if you are a lite sleeper. Great thing is the area was walkable distance to food, markets and touristy museums. If you did any of the famous tourist things you would have to book and it usually took 2 hours to get there and back, so keep that in mind if you are staying in this downtown area. I would probably still come back because the price and location. Book yours privately instead of the the hostel.
