This place is a gem. Walk out your door, and the scenery is breathtaking. Generally, in hotel parlance, "rustic" is a code word for old and run down. Not so at Alpine. The property has been in the family for 94 years according to the very friendly proprietor and has been updated, painted, and cared for. The pine wainscoting is in perfect shape. The walls are freshly painted with no messy overruns on the wood, and the bathroom fixtures and heater/air conditioner are modern. It's not a plastic and chrome Holiday Inn; rather, it's a family-run, clean, welcoming property. Truly rustic in the best sense of the word.
