Shame really, the staff were super friendly and helpful, but the building and facilities are tired and in sore need of updating. The room was clean but the bed uncomfortable and springy, pillows were flat. It would be really good value for money if you got a good night's sleep, but sadly the matress was not co-operating. We will be visiting Barry often on family matters, and would love to have found a nice place to stopover, but uncomfortable beds aren't worth it. Sadly we'll not be staying again.

Poor parking area. Poor bar. Very poor external decor. We were not warned that an engagement party was on Saturday and they did not have their own bra but their function room would be using the hotel bar. So it meant we had to go out for a drink elsewhere.

The mattress was dreadful. Every spring could be felt and creaked and groaned. I asked to be moved and was put into a room with a better mattress. With a spare duvet on top the mattress in 2nd room was comfortable. There was a huge radiator in bathroom which couldn't be turned off. Bathroom was like a sauna. Well kept foyer which smelt fresh until staff came in smelling of stale cigarette smoke. Room was clean and freshly painted. Carpets in rooms and hallway looked new . As long as you have a decent mattress this hotel is good value , clean and quiet .

The pictures on the website do not match the rooms..the rooms defo need an upgrade for the price you pay it’s defo not worth it, we had great big holes in our ceiling, the carpets need a good clean, the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from next door so barely got any sleep as both sides of the room where chatters, the windows are old and wooden so the draught coming in, the view was off old towels which had been thrown out the window, pay a bit extra and stay somewhere else… good points - reception staff where friendly

Advert for stay states pool and gym. They're not there. Breakfast option was taken off also and we were not told till we asked to preorder. Also bar was dry with extrmely selective options. Two homeless people/High hanging out on reception being quite loud & slovenly. Shower squirts out over bath onto floor at any angle. Ended up using anything we could to mop it up.
