Linen smelled musty/unclean and had stains on it. Pillows stank of stale body oils. We paid upfront, but didn't stay... It was a last resort as all hotels/motels had been booked out for Labour Party conference. Thankfully someone took pity on us at an amazing B & B half an hour out of Whanganu; after much searching. This motel/caravan park was the worst I've experienced; even taking some 3rd world countries into account.

There appeared to be a lot of gang members standing around drinking. The police were in attendance. Not suitable for families.

Not at all value of money, would consider this hotel as a last option.

I often stay in budget accommodation, so I did not book in here expecting luxury. However, this really is the pits. Some of the negative reviews "Terrifying and Disgusting" on this site seemed a little over the top, but I would now completely believe them. The filthy caravans, frankly intimidating permanent residents and general vibe of this place leave much to be desired.

Having booked and prepaid to be required to pay again was /is an outrage.......The Proprietor took advantage of the lack of accommodation in town for that weekend to in my view fleece me and other members of my party
Having booked room and given a caravan is unacceptable.......Travelling companions in their mid 80s and infirm our outraged......Will not complain.......Because they don't know how and of a generation who won't
I will...
You canvassed my/this response
Rates as one of the worst episodes in my life.....Considering I/we were in that town to lay to rest my departed brother....

to confirm my telephone conversation with your customer service on 21/1/18. this booking was not taken due to the motel being full when we arrived to check in. As the fee has been deducted from my a/c i shall be gratefull for a full refund. I shoud. say that had the room been available the condition of the motel in general was so poor that we would have refused to stay.. The standards here are well below any that a credible search site should be offering.

I don't usually bother with reading reviews and regret that I didn't in this case.
I selected this motel because of its quiet location. This was the only thing the place has going for it. After 30 minutes in the room the damp smell got too much and an allergy was triggered. As a result, we reloaded the car and gave the key back and departed to find another location in which to stay.
The rest of the facilities at the complex reminded me forcibly of family holidays in the early 1970s, as that would appear to be the last time the place was updated.
Warning: the manager doesn't always know if you have prepaid through Wotif and may try to bill you at check in as well. While I got one lot of money back, the second was only going to be paid if the room was able to be relet. Read the cancellation policy carefully.

you pay for what you get. The cheapest room in town, and a OK basic room. clean and comfortable - but dated.
It's major draw back from similar cheap motels was its environment. On entering the site, the motel units surrounded around 10 scruffy caravans, all as old as my grandfather! We actually saw no one use these, but one of the terrace of 4 motel units was clearly occupied by permanent residents (loud and generally wondering around), which created an intimidating atmosphere.
This is one of the few cheap motels I would definitively NOT go back to!

We found the rooms as seen on internet and knew that they would not be the best . But it realy needs a good clean.
As it appeared to be the only place we could get in Wanganui we had to take i.
We were 3 adults we did not sleep well.
I would not recomment it to anyone-even as last resort.I was very dirty

Arrived at the motel , they didn't have our booking available for two night even through I show him on the expedia website through his business portal that the booking was there. I had to ring around to secure another place for the second night of accommodation. Very lucky another place did have a place available as the city was basically booked out. Some one at expedia needs to reeducated him in how his bookings happen through its website.

You pay for what you get. Pay a bit extra and stay somewhere else.

It was great to place your head down and cost very reasonable

I suspect the motel is being used for state interim housing and as such influences the appeal of the motel. It was however inexpensive and adequate given the cost.

A great traveling through hotel but not somewhere I would stay for a week. but if you just needed a bed for a night while traveling to another area it fits the bill 100%
