Great: Beautiful hotel. Super cool rooftop bar. Great service. Perfect location. Big room, cozy feel. Could be better in my opinion:. Rooms could benefit from an upgrade to more modern, and new windows that keep sound out better. And improved lighting, at least in the bathroom.

Staff were very friendly and helpful! The room was spotless every morning! I gave four stars instead of 5 because there was no heat in our room for the whole 3 nights we were there and sounded like the whole building was having issues as well. They did give us a space heater and extra blankets which was very nice. I would still recommend this hotel to anyone visiting NYC.

Oh, the world of hipster hotels. My corner room was fine once I moved to the quieter part of the building on 22nd St. (vs the noise on 23rd). But be prepared for a lack of basic amenities. No room service, no mini bar and not even a coffee maker in the room. Groovy decor but there is no detail to service at the Freehand. Just another hipster hotel that doesn't really cater to its guests.

Hey guys, just some honest feedback here, in no particular order: 1. Hallways were extremely noisy - doors slamming at all times of the night 2. Toilet paper was gas station quality 3. A/C unit made a loud buzzer sound randomly at night once the heat hit the programmed temperature - loud enough to wake me up 4. Overall value just felt lacking for a $700 stay
