The staff/owner were all very friendly and helpful. We had a couple needs that they helped us with and were happy to do it. The room we stayed in was small but comfortable. However it needs some repair. It had a small microwave and a nice size refrigerator The 1/2 bath that we used was clean and in good repair. The place had a lot of wonderful items decorating it including several horse sadles and lots of great art work.

We were supposed to get pastries or continental breakfast, we only got coffee. The area around the property was very run down. Everything was closed down and felt desolate and depressed. The owner was kind but we didn’t meet him until right when we were leaving.

The staff member was great. We chose this place for its historical factor. Our only downfall was the hotel lost power overnight and without ac the room got hot. Otherwise its a great place to visit.

We arrived at the hotel before they received the reservation notice from Expedia; therefore did not have our reservation but made room for us and gave us an upgrade with our own bathroom. Very nice and accommodating!! Friendly staff and very clean hotel and rooms with a lot of interesting history :)

Die zuständige Dame des Hotels fühlte sich ganz offensichtllich gestört, als ich ankam und fragte lediglich, ob sie mir helfen könne; kein Hallo oder Wie gehts oder ein Lächeln. Das läßt einen sich nicht Willkommen fühlen. Die Klimaanlage im Zimmer hat kaum gekühlt und es war eine Hitze in dem Zimmer, die kaum auszuhalten war. Fenster konnte man nicht öffnen, weil die Klima dort drin hing. Die Frau hatte sich zwar angeboten, sich um die Klima zu kümmern, konnte aber nicht viel ausrichten. Es ging später einigermaßen. Sie hatte mir angeboten, dass, wenn es nicht kühler im Zimmer wird, ich umziehen kann - in einer Stunde. Da wäre es schon nach elf Uhr abends gewesen und ich hätte alles wieder zusammenpacken müssen. Das Angebot hätte sofort gelten müssen. Das Zimmer war soweit ok. Alt aber sauber. Das Bett war viel zu weich, aber es gab zumindest einen kleinen Sessel zum Sitzen. Bad war gemeinschaftlich, aber völlig in Ordnung. Morgens wurde Kaffee angeboten.

In a charming small town off interstate 94, the Kempton Hotel offers friendly staff, a good nights sleep and a no frills continental breakfast. Walking distance to Legion hall for cocktail and dinner, and to Evelyn Cameron gallery and county historical museum.

This hotel is quaint and has character. I would have liked to be able to open my room’s window but was sealed shut in order to hold an air conditioner, the output of which was pretty feeble. The front-desk person was very nice and hospitable and she had a large restaurant-style pot of hot coffee ready before 6:00am, which I greatly appreciated as I departed early.

Pet fee too expensive.

I have been staying with my little miniature schnauzer at the hotel, for eight years now. I have always felt safe and comfortable there, even with having to use a shared bathroom and shower. The staff is friendly and I always sleep very well. Unfortunately, I will not be staying at the hotel any longer, as the pet fee at $35 has become too exorbitant for me to afford, on a fixed income.
