Brilliant stay

So please we booked for the Wheatsheaf whilst on the way to Scotland with friends. Staff were so helpful, dinner (steak night) was brilliant as was the cooked breakfast the next morning. Loved the interior decor of the pub and the bedroom.

Very good price for B&B

Lovely pub, very friendly staff. Some decor i the rooms could do with an update/clean. Price of B&B very good. Stayed on a sunday night so very quiet, no road noise from the room at the back of the pub. Would stay again.

8/10 Very good

Excellent breakfast, can only assume that lunch/dinner would have been just as good. Unfortunately restaurant was not open on monday along with many other places near, which was a shame. Would stay again if near hopefully not on a monday night!
Allan, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Overall a really nice stay and venue, learned no food available Monday nights which was my main disappointment

10/10 Exceptional

This is the second time I have stayed here for work. It is a little isolated driving in the dark on the B roads. However, the property is lovely the food is amazing, and breakfast is really good. the staff are very friendly and attentive. it is a little hidden gem. It is my go-to place now for if im in the area
Nicola, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The staff are very pleasant and willing to help. The dining facilities are very nice and the food is of a high standard. The room I stayed in was basic , very clean and very well priced. It’s an old building with hot water radiators unfortunately every time the heating started in my room there was the constant sound of water running into the radiator. This didn’t help at 6am and the only option given was to switch it off.

Temporary difficulty accessing the property due to flooding. We had to make an 8-mile detour!

Take that small detour off the M6

Needed an overnight stay on the way to the Lake District. This was so cheap and read it was off the M6 a bit but the reviews were fantastic. We were so impressed. Reception lady was so welcoming and showed us to our beautiful room with all singing and dancing bathroom which had a jaccuzzi bath. Paddock room with parking outside room. We were very happy it was so comfy and clean. Popped in bar for a nightcap, bar lady was so friendly and made a mean cocktail 🍹. I loved the decor really classy. Quiet nights sleep then in for the inclusive breakfast. The best eggs benedict I have ever had. It was perfect. We normally go to a Premier Inn on similar. Definitely will now try other places. Could not recommend this place, its food and staff any more. 10/10
