Most Of Our Stay Was Enjoyable

During our visit to Monte Carlo Hotel on 11th Street of Ocean City Maryland, my husband and I noticed a few things. We loved the balcony with the large table and chairs and we liked the fact that the hotel has a large refrigerator and a mini stove on the counter top. The hotel is at a great spot to see the sun rise and set and we were able to see the fireworks from the hotel balcony. However, the room had a strong musty smell. It was very pungent. I think it was coming from the carpet. Also there were a few rust stains, on the silver chrome, around the bottom of the sink in the bathroom. We were in room 611.

Windows for the room would be nice. Floors needed vacuuming more. No daily service for bed change/ vacuuming as needed. The refrigerator ‘s side located next to the stove needed to be scrubbed off grease - looked very dirty on one side. Besides, no pots and pans &dishes/ kitchen tools were provided for so called good size of kitchen(full sizes of refrigerator / microwave and stove were provided ). Any rooms should have built in a few racks so we could hang up our clothes . Not enough bars inside the bathroom for hanging new towels .

Surprise

We booked a room with a kitchen so we could cook in some because I have Celiac disease. Once we got to the room there was no cooking equipment plates or anything else. They said because of Covid they took all of it away. If I would have known I never would’ve booked it.

The ladies at check-in were awesome! We were so late, getting in due to a work conflict and they were so accommodating. Throughout the entire stay, each of them were happy to greet us with a smile and assisted us with parking accommodations. Even assisted with extending our stay. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

Great location, customer experience is poor

This hotel is in a great location and the balcony with 6 seat table was outstanding. I received a text from the hotel ahead of check-in which was great. Parking is a couple of blocks away and limited to 1 car per room which I had not read in the reservation details. I noted an odor in the room but no one followed up from the hotel. The hotel cleaning staff did not pick-up trash or change towels one day during the stay but noted that the room had been serviced when we informed the front desk that our trash was overflowing. We were given trash bags and asked to put the trash outside our door instead of hotel staff coming to pick up the trash. Room is equipped with a small stove but does not provide any cooking equipment, which seemed odd. This also is not communicated, and I was only aware from reading reviews. The hotel has potential to be a great place, but there appears to be little emphasis by management on the customer experience. Enjoyed the size and balcony and locaton, but not sure I would stay at this hotel again.

Hotel staff is very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay. This is our second year staying here. The ocean front balcony room we had was great. You can see and hear the ocean. Watch the sunrise. Hear the music down stairs and see up and down the boardwalk.

The hotel is nice, a little expensive for what it is, and the front desk staff is not friendly at all. They welcome you, charge you for your deposit and don't tell you anything else when you leave to hand in your room. They charge you for a resort fee, which they never tell you anything about. When they check you in, they should be clear from the beginning when they check you in.

Expensive but stay was ok.

Overall location of the hotel was good and we enjoyed our stay. It was a quiet family oriented hotel in close proximity to all boardwalk activities and others within a short drive. The balcony was also very large with a nice table and chairs. The bad: the elevator was down for an entire day and we were on the sixth floor. Hotel staff never cleaned room, they simply emptied garbages and left fresh towels daily if you weren’t there. If you were in the room they knocked and asked what you needed but never came in. Small kitchenette was useful but no silverware or anything available, luckily my wife packed some stuff. My wife also made a complaint at the front desk about a broken drawer and mattress that with busted springs and the hotel manager never got back to her. She had to ask for 3 days in a row and finally got in touch with him when he happened to at the front desk. For the money I spent I’d expect a little more, but overall not a terrible stay. I’ll be trying somewhere else next year.

Bad shower pressure and temperature.

I hate to say it was only a in the middle, but I was not able to shower but once because it wasn’t even warm enough to feel clean! Not only was it not warm but that the pressure wasn’t any good at all. It literally took 5 minutes to rinse my hair.

1st and Last Time Stay

The bed was comfortable. I did not like being on the 6th floor although the view of the ocean was nice, I have a fear of heights. I will definitely check to make sure that the hotel I choose to rent next time has more than one elevator. It ruin my entire experience when the elevator went out of service. Iam 71 years old with some physical limitations and it was not fun hobbling down that many steps whenever I need something not to mention the time it took me to get my scooter back and fourth to the room. Saying I’m sorry for what I went through was not exceptable.

We book a room with 2 queen beds, the rooms just got full bed, is not like the pictures they posted, parking space you have to walk 3 blocks away from the hotel and is overpriced
