It was a nostalgic stay at the school I attended and stay in a second grade classroom. Very well done rooms and landscaping true to the original building with modern amenities. Even or those that never lived in Ajo I highly recommend staying here.

Very cool place, old elementary school converted to hotel rooms with large landscaped courtyard in the middle. Room was spotless and very sunny and bright. Large room with high ceilings and comfortable bed and chairs. Highly recommend. Parking seems kind of remote, but lit up and encountered no issues.

We had a great 2 night stay. The room was perfect. We loved sitting outside, enjoying the birds and the beautifully kept grounds. We were lucky to see a javalina cruise through one morning! This is a no-frills motel but offers so much. The beds are great and the bathroom was very clean. The air conditioner kept the room ice and cool. There is no T.V. but who needs one where you can go outside and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The neighborhood is interesting and eclectic. Lots of totems around and interesting art work in the yards. A jaunt up to the lookout and mine is a nice little morning or evening walk. Curleys coffee is right next door as well as Ajo Eats. This was our third visit and well be back again.

We love the mix of contemporary decor (paint color choices, meaningful art, comfy furniture) in an historic building. Quality toiletries, welcoming clear signage, easy check-in, SPACIOUS room... We are so impressed with the vision and values that inspire this building. Hats off to Ajo and the International Sonoran Desert Alliance.
