10/10 Exceptional

Parking was very convenient, and a common area is provided for storing and serving food (refrigerator, microwave, sink). Most of all, the room was spotless, the staff were fantastic and the breakfast excellent.

Convenient Comfortable B&B

Lovely welcome when we arrived. The B&B has so much onsite to make your stay as comfortable as possible, like a pool room, area to wash and dry your clothes, area to prepare own food, ice ready in freezer… Absolutely enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend.

better than expected at this price and location.

for the price, the location and with a free breakfast and free parking, whats not to like, location is great just a few minutes walk from the harbour and decent bars and restaurants.

Good breakfast, clean room and quiet location. Very nice large lounge, well-equipped kitchen. Sufficient parking (despite high season). We particularly liked John's warm welcome! John was very nice and helpful and gave us all the info we needed. Anytime again!

Lovely B&B

Excellent B&B, it is in an old building so this has to be taken into consideration, you get what you pay for, I booked a small double and it was small but big enough for what we needed. The staff were all very polite and friendly and the breakfast was ok. Would stay again.

Amazing place to stay

I travelled down solo to visit my son (who had moved to Newquay) I travelled down by train, The B&B is within walking distance of train station, The area is beautiful, beaches are lovely and plenty of restaurants and shops

Nice Stay

6/10 Good

Average hotel but good staff.

We only stayed here for one night. The hotel itself was very dated and dreary but the rooms were clean and functional. It was very quiet in our room and we had a great view of the ocean (we booked a small double room with sea view). Lots of stairs to climb so not ideal with luggage so I think we would have struggled if we stayed here for more than one night. It was tiring going up and down. You could tell the staff worked really hard so kudos to them for keeping the place running so well. Its ok for one night but I wouldnt stay for much longer. The road wasnt great with derelict buildings around but thats not the hotels fault. The distance to town and the sea front was excellent, a two minute walk so that was great. Breakfast was "free" but it wasnt very good. Mostly cereals with not many hot options but the worst thing was the breakfast area. Very dark and dreary and so quiet you could hear other people chew. I would recommend the hotel put brighter lights in the area and perhaps some classical music or jazz in the background. It kind of felt like a doctros waiting room. You were scared to speak. Like I said great staff and clean rooms so generally good but they could do so much more to make the hotel less dreary by fixing some of the dark decor and that awful breakfast room.
Andri, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The location was good, and the host was very helpful with questions that I had. The room was a bit small but it was clean and sufficient for one person.
Barry, 4-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The beds were great and, other than some excitable seagulls, it was peaceful and quiet! Great location for easy walking to all beaches, shops and restaurants. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Newquay area!
Mary, 2-night trip

The host is very responsible and friendly. Keep these facilities very tidy. Breakfast is complimentary you have hot cold dishes savoury sweet options enough for you to eat.

Excellent

Really lovely hotel, very close to Newquay centre and the beach. Big clean room with comfy beds and an en suite shower/bath room. Good breakfast. We managed to find parking on site for our full stay which was free. We would definitely return.
Nicola, 2-night trip

Great welcome snd follow up by John. The place is worn, but notbdirty. Nice breakfast. Laundry room. Parking is a challenge. I'd stay again.
William, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

It was ok for just one night, walls paper thin noisy neighbours watching tv and talking loudly until after 1 am, bed not so comfy, just grabbed a quick croissant on my way out so couldn’t really comment on breakfast, location was good.
Kirsty, 1-night trip

Overnight

Old building in a great location. Buzzer to get into reception so not a full time reception, but once in very friendly welcome. Room was small but comfortable enough. Was wondering how breakfast would be as self service, but wasn't bad. Some hot food available.
Ian, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Good but average

The hotel is ok if you need a stay for a night. While the cleanliness is impeccable, the hotel is very dated in decor. Beds were comfortable and mattresses seemed fairly new, and breakfast was good ok for a 3 star hotel. I find a rate above £90 no longer value for money though.

Glendeavour 9th - 12th July 2023

The hotel lived up to our expectations. It is located close to the centre of Newquay and the beaches. The room was compact but comfortable, and the bathroom was in excellent condition. The breakfast was better than anticipated from earlier reviews we had read. Not a full buffet breakfast offer, but a decent choice of cold and hot foods. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we would recommend the hotel to anyone who is looking for a moderately priced comfortable hotel in Newquay.
John, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Great place as a base to visit Newquay

Breakfast included, various Kelloggs cereals, Orange and Apple juice, crumpets, toast, oranges, apples, bananas, various hot drinks also hot food was baked beanz, scrambled egg & sausages as well as a few other bits. Loved the fact you could bring food in having use of microwave, fridge & freezer ( knives, forks, spoons & plates supplied ) Had room 17, top floor with views of sea towards the harbour area. Did not bring car with me but its free parking anyway
Donald, 4-night trip

6/10 Good

Older hotel, outdated. I would rate the staff as very efficient. Expedia are not up to date with how late to check in. Expedia says 10pm, it is 9pm. Not much good when the train from Par to Newquay is cancelled and you arrived late.fortunate I phoned ahead
Geoff, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

I wasn't going to review this place as my mother told me that if I couldn't say something nice I shouldn't say anything at all, but, since they asked... First for the likes: the man and woman who we saw working there were genuine, pleasant and helpful. The place was kept clean, the room was cleaned well and there were plenty of towels. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the shower worked well. The location was convenient for the town centre and central beaches The so-so: It's obviously had a lick of paint and some updates to rooms, meaning that things work, but everything has been done so cheaply as to look like a fixed up student rental (electrics in trunking and all) The breakfast is basic but adequate. Now for the not so good: It looks very run down and is sandwiched between a derelict hotel and a building site. The unmanned reception area looks like a security desk in an old betting shop. The "bar" shown in the pictures which I thought would bring some retro kitsch is no longer a bar (to be fair a bar isn't listed) it's just just a room you can use (why would you?) It is priced as a hotel, but is more like a hostel. If you have this in mind or perhaps think of it as an alternative to a surf lodge then you wont be disappointed. So little investment seems to have been put into the place that I can only surmise that it is being kept ticking over until a good development offer is made for the land. Well, I was asked for a review, so had to be honest!
