It was a bit of a walk from the train station, but not too bad as long as it's not raining. Room was clean and decent. The breakfast was continental. Buy an electrical adapter as soon as possible. What we brought from the U.S. was not compatible. Buy your Swiss travel pass at the train station upon arrival or online.

Quaint family-run hotel on Niderdorfstrasse

Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is above a restaurant (which doubles as the breakfast area), so when we arrived early we left the baggage with the wait staff and they moved it into our room once the room was ready. Location was great, easy access to trams and good dining.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough, the location is amazing. 5 minutes from the main station and walkable to everything you want in Zurich. The staff are fantastic. The (included) breakfast buffet is delicious and varied. And although there is a bar opposite, the building is so well wound proofed that with the windows closed you hear nothing!

Old Town Gem

Cute hotel right in the heart of the Alstadt (Old Town). Steps from great sights, food and shopping. Staff is welcoming and helpful, the room was small but clean and well provided. Great steakhouse is part of the building as well. Don't miss this one if you go to Zurich!
