I always stay at this hotel when visiting Lawrence for any KU related events. It's right off of the K-10 highway headed in from the KC metro area, and easy to get to (without getting on a toll road) from the KC airport. Being on 23rd St gives you easy access to anything you want to go to in Lawrence. Rooms are comfortable. They put out a good complementary breakfast each day (the weekends in particular have good breakfast food). There is a nice outdoor patio area that has a firepit going each night that I have sat around several times. Families with kids seem to like the pool. There is a small fitness gym, but it doesn't have much in it besides a treadmill and some free weights. The hotel did charge me an extra $25 "amenities fee" this time when I checked in that I do not believe I had been charged before. I am not sure what that was for.
