Top notch! Hosts were really kind and amazing and this is an authentic gem of a staycation house. Must recommend. Breakfast on point. Even they helped me with their son to fix my car. I’ll definitely book them next time.

Inconvenient location, dated house with too many tchotchkes, very narrow steep stairs to rooms. Positive aspects: lovely couple who runs the B&B, very clean, comfortable bed, delicious treats available for guests.

Nice spot to stay at. This was part of a larger road trip. It was a nice change from the typical hotel/motel. The description on your website says that it’s in a National Park. It is not. If you have a problem with climbing steps you shouldn’t stay here or request ground floor. The stairway was narrow and steep and the steps are short. I didn’t have an issue but my companion did. Breakfast and decor were great!

We absolutely loved our stay! Quaint rooms with everything you need. The bed was amazing, as was the breakfast with lots of options ranging from various fruits to cooked Southern breakfast staples. We very much enjoyed our conversations with Jeanne, the owner. We definitely recommend the Island House of Wanchese and hope to return soon ourselves!

Great place to stay

The house was very nice and cozy. We were greeted very warmly. We did not hear any noise. In the morning there was a wonderful and yummy breakfast prepared for everyone that stayed there. I would definitely stay there again!

It was wonderful but please warn guests of steep, narrow steps to 2nd floor rooms. They were manageable for me but could be difficult if you have a bad back or breathing problems.

Check in was easy but we were not welcomed very warmly.we were quickly told that we were not in a parking space and would need to move our car. Breakfast was served buffet style but no host or hostess was seem to see if our needs were being met. Everything was clean and inviting but the shower was growing a field of mildew along the base. It doesn’t take much effort to clean that now before it gets worse.

Lovely Weekend Stay!

This was our first time at a bed and breakfast. It was amazing! The home was beautiful, clean, and cozy. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding! We really loved the old home and all the antiques. Awesome location convenient to everything but away from the busier areas! We will definitely be back!
