Cheap rates in a dubious location

Close to the train station (and about 15mins walk from the city) so convenient for an early train ride, but it's a really creepy area and building. We had trouble finding it because the building is barely marked - looks like a closed warehouse door with bars across (and is very dark inside), and there were a few suspicious-looking people hanging around outside. You'll need to call the receptionist's mobile so he can take you up to your room. As a pair of girls we were definitely unsettled by the location and I would imagine it is not suitable for solo travellers either. Air conditioning is a noisy portable unit inside the room. Kitchen is straight out of a uni sharehouse. The best thing we can say about it is that the price is very cheap and excellent value if you're looking to catch the train out of Catania early in the morning.

Great place, close to city center (15 minutes walk to Piazza Del Duomo), communication lines (train, bus). Really close to bus stops to Airport (Alibus line). Clean room, helpful service, great breakfasts.

Facilissimo da raggiungere.

A parte l'errato numero telefonico presente sulla e-mail per poter contattare la struttura, tutto o quasi era come descritto. Forse la colazione un pò povera.. ma comunque per una notte ok.

Ci torneró. Posizione comoda e alloggio buono

B&B molto carino. La proprietaria gentile e simpatica. A pochissimi metri dalla stazione e dalla fermata dei bus. Stanze grandi e pulite. Ci siamo teovati benissimo e ci torneremo di certo. Consigliato!

Spotless, decent sized room with good beds, good bathroom, fridge and excellent, modern air con in full working order. Two mins from station in run down area, don’t be put off by dilapidated security doors to the block. Great value.

Happy and worth for cost

The stay was amezing and comifrtbale. the owner is lovely lady and alsways ready to help you. she speaks good english. the location is very close to all the transporations so anytime you reach back to this place. Also a good viwe of Etna mountains from the room. I highly reccomend this place for family, friends and first time travellers.

Звёздами даже не пахнет.

На уличной вывеске значатся 3*, по факту - нет ни одной. Ключи от номера сделаны чуть ли не из расплющенного гвоздя, ручки дверей висят на шурупах, фанерные двери со стеклами, которые зашиты фигурным картоном. Бронировали номер с индивидуальной ванной комнатой, по факту, ходили через коридор в общий с/у, который сделали индивидуальным, мимо стойки ресепшиониста. Из номера - выход на балкон с местом для курения для всех постояльцев (для них выход на балкон через кухню), хотя заказывали номер для некурящих. Завтрак: круассан, мюсли с молоком, печеньки. Просили бумажный чек об оплате - кончились бланки. Обещали прислать на электронку. Прислали письмо, что выслали - без вложений. Даже скидка аж в 5 евро не поправила настроения. По возможности, выберите что-нибудь другое.

Our short stay in Catania

The hotel room is one of four in the property operated my private owners, who rent out the rooms to tourists. The room was generally clean and the bed was comfortable but my opinion of the service by the host to the customer was is not. The breakfast was very poor, no decent bread for toast or any provision for non Italian guests. The host did replace the the juice or bread at the breakfast table or even offer to do so when there was none available. As I was checking out the host asked me for 20 euros city tax for two people for two nights stay eventhough it was clear that the rules stated two euros per night for each person. After realising the mistake I recieved no apology from the host and in fact I did not feel welcome at the property at all. I felt as though the host just wanted the money from the customer but was not interested in providing a good service and just regarded guests as 'cash cows'. I think the host needs to change their attitude or they will almost certainly end up with more reviews like this one for many potential guests to read online.

un gradito ritorno

Sono tornato in questo hotel in buona posizione lontano dal centro quindi in un bel contesto verde stanza calda e comoda anche il bagno solo la pressione dell'acqua andrebbe aumentata. colazione molto varia e abbondante con prosciutti e formaggi di ottima qualità nonchè cornetti e torte dolci ottimi. Ho cenato al ristorante 3 cene diverse e molto particolari. quindi ci ritornerò

Very nice, well maintained, spacious room. Very convenient location in that it's right next to the bus and train stations (which makes it easy to catch the only bus to Etna, at 8:15am). Unfortunately the neighborhood it's in is not very attractive, but you can walk 10 minutes to the nicer parts of town. The bed was decent and we slept well because it's reasonably quiet.

イタリアに慣れていない方はご遠慮ください。

駅近い、他の書き込み通り翌日の早い電車に乗る自分には丁度良いと思い予約。確かに入り口は解りにくい。タクシー運ちゃんに話しイタリア語でインターホンで宿の兄ちゃんを読んでもらう、チップも弾み笑顔でバイバイ。宿の兄ちゃんも良い奴で水やらジュースやらを冷蔵庫から出してくれる。部屋はリフォームしたばかり？バスルームはきれい。フロアは6階、早朝３時、窓の外には暗い空き地とバスターミナルと、、、娼婦達。暗くなったら部屋にいて下さい(ToT)、何と言ってもここはカターニァ、イタリアマフィアで有名なシチリア島第2の都市の駅前。起こるときには起こります。そんな場所の宿です。安くて助かったぁ～。

Provare un nuovo B&B

B&B sito in un palazzo un po' trascurato e bisognoso perciò di ristrutturazione, ma vicinissimo alla stazione ferroviaria, alla fermata della metro e al capolinea di diverse linee di pullman. Non lontanissimo dal centro che può essere raggiunto a piedi comodamente. La zona non è delle migliori, ma basta tenere gli occhi aperti e in tutti i casi non ho avuto alcun problema ne per parcheggiare la macchina gratuitamente in strada proprio di fronte al palazzo che accoglie il B&B, ne nel ritirarmi in tarda notte. Il B&B si trova al penultimo piano da dove si gode una bellissima vista dell'Etna. Le stanze sono ampie e i bagni in camera anche, solo una camera ha il bagno esterno. Si vede subito che il B&B è stato proprio "adattato" ricavandolo, per essere tale, da un appartamento che magari avrebbe avuto necessità di un intervento di ristrutturazione più puntuale per servire allo scopo. Posso però dire che la gestione famigliare dello stesso è stata cordiale e disponibile ad ogni mia esigenza. I locali sono puliti come anche la biancheria da letto e da bagno. La colazione è accettabile e comunque presenta prodotti freschi anche se non c'è grande scelta, ma in fin dei conti non si può pretendere di più visto il prezzo abbordabile. Struttura certamente non adatta a disabili, visto che per arrivare all'ascensore già bisogna fare un paio di scalini che ci si ritrova anche in camera dove sono stati ricavati i bagni con uno stratagemma di passaggio di tubi sotto pedana.
