The room was so cute white nice with a lovely terrace and fabulous breakfast There was a terrible terrible odor ? Animal ? Toilet brush I am allergic to cats and my throat swelled up The room was so lovely with a large TV Hotel.con address was wrong the instructions to the key pad arrived late I never got Wi-Fi instructions so I had to use a hot spot The location was lovely but I am still ill from the snell I emailed the reception but have not heard back I went to reception a couple of times no one there The elevator broke my husband called the emergency number and he was able to get a different key but I had no Wi-Fi so it was stressful Did anyone else have an odor problem here? It was very strong and a shame because the place is otherwise so beautiful and location superb

Pros: Location, location, location! 10 minute walk from train station. 5 minute walk to the duomo, shopping, and alot of good restaurants. 1 minute walk three doors down to one of the best restaurants, which happens to be the provider of the included breakfast, with friendly service, a fantastic breakfast buffet, and excellent coffee! Beds were comfy, linens were clean and replaced daily, room was old, but clean and quiet. Cons: Initial reception was confusing. Roof top patio could be a great ammenity if it was better furnished and lit properly at night. Cool view of neighbor dome though. Definitely call ahead to set up your arrival. There is no reception desk inside the front door. Just an empty corridor and a musty old stairway leading up to the reception desk on the third floor that has limited in-person reception hours. Our receptionist was very friendly, helpful, and spoke fluent English. Call ahead for an access code for the elevator. It is a tiny, two person elevator accessed by a door on the street, two doors to the left of the main entry door. Overall, just accept the musty old vibe of the place because the building has been there for hundreds of years. It's an amazingly quiet respit at night given its convenient location to all the action. Would definitely stay there again!

Perfect location, super walkable. I traveled with other 2 adults, the beds were comfortable, super quiet, we never crossed paths with other guests. Breakfast was really good, we really liked it. I think they can improve cleaning, you could easily tell the floors had a heavy build up, the shower had some drain smell, although housekeeping tried their best to concealed. Please improve the appearance of the entrance. I almost regretted when we first arrive. Would I stay there again? Definitely.

Our room had a vile smell of sewage the entire four nights we stayed. We would come back to our room and the the odor was so bad it made all of us nauseous. We made them aware of the situation after the first night and asked to be compensated for the major discomfort. They did not offer to change the room it is likely the hotel was full. We are certain the management rented us the room, fully knowing the problem. My teenage children did not want to stay in the room and complained the entire four days. We all dreaded going back to the room fearful of the wall of offense odor as soon as we would open the door. There is a recent review of the same hotel about a month ago from a traveller, Andrea Capaciolli on Feb. 2025 who stayed in the same room called the Massacio and had the same major sewage issue and they did nothing for him either. We came home to Vancouver and our luggage and clothes still wreaked of sewage...Shame on this establishment for renting this room. It is an unacceptable business practice. We were able to go into the room next to us and it did not have the same issue so it is is specific to the room. Also the morning we were leaving we saw a plumbing truck parked right out front of the hotel...We were advised by Andrea (the caretaker) that the owner would call us after the trip. Crickets... Don't let the rating fool you or you may be stuck with a horrible smelling room and a hotel that does not care.
