The deceitful tactics to get us to attend a sales pitch for their version of "timeshare" really started the stay on a bad note. It also seemed like the appointed service rep. lost interest in providing "above and beyond" customer care after we left before the sales pitch. The service was hit or miss. Specially at the main buffet restaurant. Food and drinks were good, up to expectations. Steakhouse was definitely everyone's favorite. The coffee launge was outstanding, the quality and service made it an everyday must. Overall had a good vibe for families with children with lors of different activities for everyone to enjoy. Unfortunately due to the high amount of seaweed we weren't able to enjoy the beach and it still seemed like a pretty small area.

Ocean El Faro is not just disappointing—it’s dangerous. Rude staff, cockroaches-infested rooms, multiple forced moves, feces in my bed, and meals that made me sick—this wasn’t a one-off bad stay. These horror stories are echoed by countless other guests. Skip this resort at all costs.

This resort was a nice little oasis. Clean grounds, nice pools, friendly staff. Worked out for individuals who are either going as a couples retreat or as a family. The draw back was that the food was only limited from 6-10 for reservations and others as first come first serve won’t take you after 9:15 and have to go to the buffet or American dinner which was average. The restaurants for reservation were good. Sakura was amazing. We upgraded our rooms to a swim up for a reasonable amount at check in and they said the room would be available at 3 which is regular check in time and we arrived at 1. We updated 2 rooms, first one was ready at 4:15 the other was ready at 6:30. We couldn’t get anyone to clean our rooms, we would reach out to our guests services specialist before breakfast and he would send someone out as soon as possible but would take nearly the whole day for someone to arrive, average time was around 5pm. The beach was nice, we did an excursion and the beach there was much more cleaned. It wouldn’t been nice if they would rake out the sargassum, the other beach (excursion) was less than 10 minutes away and perfectly clean and clear. The resort land is huge, more consistent cars should be present when taking guest from one end to the other end of the resort. It was a nice newer resort but for the upgraded rooms with swim up and lack of attention for the rooms by request made it unpleasant.

The hotel is beautiful with a stunning lobby and bright, spacious, comfortable rooms. We had an issue with our first room due to water damage and a terrible smell, but staff quickly moved us to a great new room. Room service and housekeeping were excellent, and they easily provided a rollaway bed. There’s plenty to do: bowling, a small but nice family lounge, and a kids club with no complaints. However, the timeshare salespeople were extremely pushy, approaching guests constantly to sell upgrades, spa services, or activities, which felt intrusive. The biggest downside was the food. While restaurant interiors and selection were impressive, the taste and quality were very disappointing. Many dishes were overcooked, dry, and bland. Grilled meats tasted slow-cooked, chicken and seafood were often dry, and rice and pasta lacked flavor. The only highlights were fresh fruits, good cheese, and greens. Service was good, but the food was a letdown. Other issues: not enough pool towels after 11am, not enough tubes for the lazy river, and lots of seaweed on the beach, with only a small section cleaned, making it impossible to access the water. On the bright side, the hotel made my husband’s birthday special, decorating our room and surprising us with a whole cake at dinner. Overall, it’s a gorgeous property with great rooms and service, but the aggressive sales tactics, mediocre food, and seaweed take away from the experience.
