We were excited to stay at the Sarasota Modern. Having the valet parking was a nice touch so we knew we were in for a treat at the hotel. Unfortunately when walking into the lobby we weren't impressed. The front desk and surrounding furniture were really rundown. The front desk had marks, chips, etc. This is a customer's first impression so you want to make it impactful. The elevators (though cool vibe with wallpaper) had a bad odor that wasn't appealing. The room itself was very nice and comfortable. The room was what we expected. The bar area was very nice too and the overall staff were excellent. Just a few updates would have taken this rating from a 3 to a 5.
