"Absolutely love Kyoto and this hotel too. It’s beautiful, rooms are gorgeous and the amenities are amazing. Friendly staff. Definitely recommend staying here"
"Really excellent staff, the location is very convenient for travel in Kyoto - right inside the station but the rooms are completely quiet and private. Breakfast isn't top but lots of range"

I had a great stay at THE GATE Hotel in Kyoto! The property is modern, clean, and well-maintained. One of the highlights is definitely the top floor, where the reception and bar are located—it offers a stunning panoramic view of the city, especially at sunset. The location is super convenient, just a short walk from the train station and close to several local attractions, which made it easy to explore Kyoto. Overall, a comfortable and stylish place to stay. I’d definitely come back!
Beautiful hotel with a beautiful room. Very spacious and the tub was perfect for relaxing. The staff were very kind and helpful. In a great location by the river and a lot of restaurants.
We absolutely loved the onsen/natural springs!
The room was very stylish and lovely.
The hotel really relaxed us after a day of sightseeing. Nothing like a good soak to relax your mind AND body! We stayed in two other hotels during our 8 night stay in Japan and we voted this one our favorite!
Amazing value, felt very luxurious and everything was super clean and thoughtful to the smallest details. The onsen was clean, they provided a lovely welcome drink, free snacks, and a great gym. Decent location. Thanks for the stay and will be back!
This hotel was the best out of the hotels we stayed at on our two week trip (3 hotels total). If you’re looking for a great hotel in Kyoto it’s this hotel. Room was clean and beautiful. Bed was excellent (all other beds we slept on were hard and bad). Bathroom was great! Close to the subway and bus stop (use the bus - super easy, fast and clean). Next door to convenience store (very helpful). Blocks from Kyoto station (also very helpful). One block from a beautiful shrine. Coin-op laundromat...
This is a modern hotel in a great location, located on top of a subway station only 4 stops without transfer from Kyoto Station. The subway and bus options are very convenient. There are many restaurants and cafes within walking distance and of course several Seven's and a nice grocery store nearby. The beds are comfortably and the Nespresso machines were great.
Check-in was easy and the staff is extremely helpful and courteous.
Special gratitude goes to the staff and management, who...
This hotel is fabulous. The rooms are stylish and the location could not be better. It is right next to a subway station and an easy trip from Kyoto station. The breakfast is tasty with many choices. The rooms are a little on the small side for Americans...we are from New York City so pretty typical for NYC standards. Would 100% stay here again. Five star for food, design, location, and service.
