"This hotel is located right on the Douro, in a picturesque spot. There's a parking area right outside. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel claims to be four star; it may have been once but it no longer is. The rooms are spartan. A 20" tv from the 2000s. No amenities whatsoever in the bathroom, which had a broken wall shower and between one and three lights randomly working, depending on I know what. I had to move furniture to find the only single wall outlet close to the bed. There's an attached restaurant, your only choice if you stay here and again, while the staff are pleasant, the food is uninspiring. Breakfast was reasonably good and the views are impressive but the three star property I stayed in the previous night was far far better."

"Hotel is situated on the road opposite the access to the beach and beach bars. Tourist information next door where we used bikes for the day for free biking into Ovar. Short stroll to get on the beautiful white sandy beaches. Breakfast buffet, few (luke) warm options, fruit, breads, cereal's, cakes etc, . Spa and pool is extra to use (€12) and only get 3 coffee pods in the room (no kettle), any more have to pay for, not even topped up daily when staying for more than one night. Limited parking at the front of hotel, but big public car park only a few meters away. Currently essential work being carried out to the sea defence after a storm in January, so do expected noise and view of the digger at night parked up, whilst work is carried out. Room nice, very comfy bed. Felt for a spa hotel. Little touches of body lotion in the room would be nice touch and welcome biscuit or cookie (had both in hotel in Aveiro, which is worth a visit 😉) Visit Ovar, Aveiro (Venice of Portugal), Costa Nova/Piara da Barra, Vagela (tiles church), Santa de Marie Ferra (Castle) and Douoro Valley."

"Location is fantastic. Ocean view from the hotel room is fantastic. This is not 4-star. Rooms aren't clean. Toilet was leaking. Utensils in the kitchen still had food on them from prior guests. Silverfish in kitchen cabinets."

"Check in was great, with a welcome glass of Port. Breakfast was perfect every morning with plenty of options and very scenic views. Room was little dated and the area itself is secluded. If you’re looking for that, than this is the spot. The highlight of the trip in Douro was the wine tour about an hour away. Beautiful area beautiful resort. "

"We had the most wonderful stay here for 3 days over easter. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, every part of it is carefully thought out. The decor is gorgeous, rooms spacious with lovely high ceilings and it is immaculately clean. The grounds are stunning, service and staff exceptional, i cannot think of one negative thing about our stay. Breakfast was also excellent and dinner in the restaurant the same with very reasonable pricing too for a 5 star hotel. A couple of minutes walk away are a couple of pleasant local restaurants and if you have a car, lots of hikes nearby. We loved every minute of our stay and would return in a heartbeat. "

"Hotel de diseño con vistas estupendas al Duero. Tiene dos piscinas pequeñas, y un gimnasio y spa también pequeños, pero suficientes. El restaurante Raiva ofrece una comida y un servicio excelentes. El sumiller, Pedro, se portó especialmente bien con nosotros, explicando los vinos de la región y teniendo un trato muy amable. El hotel ofrece diversas actividades, como paseos por el Duero, excursiones, etc. Un lugar estupendo para relajarse y desconectar unos días."
