"Room was very good overal #1005, but if being very very picky. There was little metal thing on floor looked like a vacuum part or something. The vacuum missed a little bit of stuff in one spot. The entire room wasn't wiped down from top to bottom. Otherwise the room was very good. There no instructions for using climate control in the room. Someone in there infinite wisdom put it between the beds at night table level without a tilt screen instead of eye level. Our country does not typically use this type of controller. I don't think they could have made it more difficult to use if they tried. In fairness a guy came right up when i complained and got the heat on. It would be nice if they asked temperature prefferrence when booking and precondition the room as some units take so long to repond. Also the phone had no instructions or information on how they billed with it. I did not even know how to call the front desk. Attention to detail goes along way in my books. The place was what you expect but lacked the extra touches to be great. You get the idea they are relying on the pretty, smiling reception selling the place not a cohesive effort to be great."
"The whole hotel was spotless with modern amenities, just a much needed reprieve after the Ha Giang loop. An unexpected favorite so far in Vietnam after many other hotels."
"The hotel was clean, comfortable and in a convenient location close to town centre and river.
Reception kindly helped me book a cheaper transfer to Hanoi than I was able to find online.
Rooms were turned down each day with fresh water provided."
"This little place is a gem!! Wow! Less than $30 a night per room!
It was clean, spacious rooms, beautiful views of the mountains. It was peaceful and the restaurant just down the road had delicious food.
I would love to stay here again for a few nights instead of just one."
"I stayed at Hotel 99 during the holidays and booked a private room at the standard rate. It seemed decent enough, and since I had my motorbike, I didn’t mind the location too much. The room was surprisingly spacious with three beds – could easily sleep three people – and had a private bathroom. The hot shower worked well, clean bedsheets, comfy pillows, towels provided, and even a little fridge
That said, the place wasn’t particularly clean. The room felt a bit grubby, the mattresses were quite firm, and the duvets clearly hadn’t been washed in a while. The location is also a bit out of the way – about a 25-minute walk to the city centre – so not the most convenient spot if you’re on foot.
All in all, fine if you’re just after a cheap place to rest your head for the night, but don’t expect anything too cosy or spotless."
"A delightful stone homestay build around the mouth of a cave. Dinner is served inside the cave, breakfast was served in the open reception dining area. Hosts were kind, attentive and accommodating. I absolutely recommend this place!"
