Villa Romana del Casale is 2.2 mi (3.5 km) from central Piazza Armerina, why not stop by during your stay. If you want to experience more of the culture Piazza Armerina has to offer, head to Thermae, Atrium, and Main Entrance.
If museums are on your list of things to see, then you might want to head to Venus of Morgantina, located in the heart of Aidone. If you want to see more of the museums in Aidone, Casa Museo del Contadino isn't far either.
If you're planning a bit of sightseeing during your trip, head to Thermae— just one of the landmarks located 2.2 mi (3.5 km) from central Piazza Armerina.
"The "total spa" experience is very underwhelming. Access to a sauna, steam room, is not a "total" experience. The foot treatment consisting of ruining a walk on progressively more painful rocks was so bad we had to laugh.
But... rooms were good and the staff were very pleasant. Everything else, that is standard, was really good."
"The location was amazing. You do have to go up a small flight of stairs to the front desk. The staff did help. The room is good for 1-2 night stay. Breakfast was great. Staff was kind and let me check in a little early. "
"The star rating on this property by various sources appears way too high. The rating and name and some photos imply it is a luxurious full service property. It is not. There is no one at the front desk from 10am to 8am. The street noise level, at lease in some rooms, is very loud. I was surprised the room did not come with a noise machine and ear plugs. One source stated airport shuttle - no such shuttle - they call you a taxi. The room itself is very very basic - nothing luxurious. "
"Bitterly disappointed with this hotel.
On reading the website when booking it advertises sea, relaxation and comfort. However on arrival we were informed the pool, sea swimming and the dive centre were closed all of which open on 1st June as listed under the “services subsection” of the website. At the spa centre again the same story with the sauna, jacuzzi, Turkish bath and steam room all closed. On asking why “just because they are”. Presumably again open on 1st June. The hotel itself is a little tired being a conference / venue hotel that sprawls along the cliff edge. It is not in the centre or near Catania (7kms away) with a poor and sporadic bus service into the actual town. Taxis are available and Ubers can bring you back. The staff are generally very friendly and accommodating. Really there is very little to do outside of the “open / high season” here and we would not recommend this hotel for visiting Catania as the website is misleading in what you actually get. We met other groups and they felt the same with everything being closed. "
