Occidental Nuevo Vallarta - All Inclusive
2/10 Terrible
"Room service is pay per item...staff avoids you.....room service and balcony view was supposed to be included. They charged me 750$CDN to have food delivered to me for the 12 nights I stayed there (ontop of the all inclusive fee). Oceanview was barely a view as there were two buildings outside my small window that had ongoing construction. All I heard was drilling and hammering all day!!!! I have so many pictures from outside my window, and couches in lobby that had no cushions to still outside. I will upload them later. So sad, this is how they treat someone who was there for 12 days! I would never go there again!"
"I have never written a review before, but for this experience, I had to. I'm a single mother traveling with twin 14 year old boys. I wanted an all inclusive stay so that I could relax and never have to worry about feeding my boys-- there would always be food and I would never have to worry about spending because everything was already paid for. This trip cost me 5k for only 4 nights. When we arrived, starving, after traveling all day with delays, etc., we were told all the restaurants were booked. You had to go on the website each day to book for the following night-- book at 6pm for the following night at 6pm. If that was completely booked (which it was EVERY NIGHT OF OUR STAY), then you try again at 7pm, etc. Each time, BOOKED. I could not believe it. I just did not want to worry about food and so now we had to take cabs to restaurants to eat! So all that extra work and extra money for us to eat on vacation after having paid for an all inclusive stay. Also, our bathroom flooded and I asked a maid at the front desk, along with the man behind the desk, to please make sure our bathroom was mopped. They said they would handle it. They didn't. The maid seemed happy to do it but then it didn't happen. It was crazy! There was nothing relaxing about the stay. As a single mom, having spent 5k to work harder than at home and to spend above and beyond what I expected, the trip was a major fail. The pool was pretty, the beach was nice, but the ability to eat was not as advertised."

10/10 Excellent
"Great beachfront location, our room was newly renovated. Bed was super comfortable and our room was cleaned meticulously daily. Bucerías is walkable, about 15 minutes. Super cute town and felt very safe walking around.
Nightly drink specials in the lobby & great tacos by the pool :)"
"Lots of thoughts about Vidanta. The property itself is very beautiful. I’ll try to name the pros and cons.
There are many pools, lots of chairs. Lots of places to be and activities to be done. It’s a really beautiful and well kept property. The room is spacious and clean. The housekeeping staff were always greeting me and they were very efficient and kind. Front desk staff were great too. Since my check-in, Martha (Grand luxxe 3) has been very helpful and nice. The spa was good and it’s a relief that it’s included. It was a shame that Sea tonic was extra.
Now the cons. The property does not necessarily allow Uber or not ride share friendly. Your only choice is their overpriced taxis and the premises are so far away from normal life. If you go to Vidanta either dish out on taxis or forget outside world. Wish they had a shuttle service to the city like the hotels in Orlando.
Be prepared to walk a lot. There is a shuttle service between locations on site but whenever I requested one from the staff outside they kept telling me to walk and it’s not too far but those distances add up. The food was overpriced which I understand but tbh it did not taste good considering the prices. Nothing from the bakery was fresh. The croissants were soggy and they do not even warm it up before serving. Santuario shows seating is tiered. Buy drinks to sit at the front makes no sense. I would consider Vidanta again. But not sure if it would be my priority due to all the cash grab traps."
