"When we arrived the property looked run down and in an isolated area.
I should have known to have been concerned by the security precautions on reception/
The receptionist tried to be helpful but language was a barrier- only spoke French.
The website advertised a restaurant - this is a lie. There is no restaurant for this accommodation. There is a best western across the road but this was out of our price range and there are no nearby shops at all. We had to order an expensive takeaway.
The room was FILTHY DIRTY! There was a crusty dirty sock under one of the beds, the mattresses smelt dirty and stale, and the bathroom had PUBIC HAIR all over the floor, doors, and walls.
The area felt unsafe for myself and my two children- the bolts on the doors would not lock as they had clearly been previously broken and I tried to stack our luggage in front of the door to feel safe. I was too worried to open the window at night so the room was too hot to sleep in, very smelly and none of us slept at all - not ideal for the 11 hour drive we had the next day.
Appalling accommodation- would never stay at one of these ever again!"
"My wife and I came here as part of our anniversary celebration. We were looking forward to a comfortable, learning experience. This is our first time in this part of France but 2nd time in France. You would think that this hotel being in a worldwide historic destination(Dunkirk) that the hotel staff would at least think of visitors that maybe coming from other parts of the world. They failed. They did not accommodate our visit whatsoever. From the initial greeting, I sensed that we were intruding their hotel. There was no sense of welcoming... no sense of warmth that is usually present in places of hospitality. Our stay was anything but hospitable & enjoyable. We couldn't wait to leave. The French are known for their indifference, lack of warmth, and lack of civility... this French hotel staff succeeded in all three. Simple requests were met hesitation, indifference and rudeness. I could go on and on.
I will never come back to this place and will advise those in my circle not to come here... or France for that matter as both of my visits to France were anything but enjoyable."
"Stayed for one night after travelling on le shuttle and before heading south. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Restaurant was a nice place to sit after the long journey. "
"Room was nice and clean. Comfy bed.
Bathroom quite dated.
Parking is in the main square opposite the hotel which was free because it was Sunday. otherwise you have to pay from 8am to noon and 2pm to 6pm. "
"It was an ideal overnight stay for us from the ferry port.I checked ahead that we would be able to check in late and they replied promptly that there was an overnight porter.
Parking was provided and the room was exactly right for a family of 3 with a bunk bed for a daughter.
We paid for breakfast with the room and glad we did as it was suitable for setting us up for the road ahead: coffee, croissant, bread and and cereal for our daughter.
Another couple wanted to pay for breakfast separately but they wete told that it has to be pre booked."
