Bergen is known for its museums and seafood restaurants, and entices visitors with popular attractions including Torgalmenningen Square and Fish Market.
"Best. Breakfast. Buffet. Ever. Two kinds of salmon, so many exotic meats and cheeses, heavenly little pastries, abundant fresh fruit, all served in the historic stock exchange trading room with high vaulted ceiling, beautiful murals and view of the harbor."
"Room was great - very clean. Breakfast was all we could have wanted and more! There was a strike on but the staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Roof tower is amazing and well worth asking for the key to go up and have a look. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Bergen!"
"Clean spacious room, great location, helpful staff. Laundry room with card payment was also an unexpected bonus. Downside was that the communal area was being renovated so some facilities were unavailable which was disappointing. Couldn’t work out the air conditioning controls so room got extremely hot at night. Self check-in also didn’t work."
"The hotel staff were amazing. We had no idea because we received zero advance communication, but the restaurant and hospitality staff in Bergen were on strike during our stay. The hotel restaurants and bar were closed the entire trip. We had been hoping to eat dinners at the hotel. Hotel breakfast was available and was very nice, but the seating area was overly warm. Our hotel room was dated but very clean. The air conditioning did not work, but we were very grateful that the room windows opened. 24 deg Celsius was just a bit too warm for us to sleep. But the windows allowed cool fresh air in. Overall I think this would be a lovely stay if the restaurants and bar were open and the hotel wasn’t kept so warm. It was clean and very near to every attraction. The hotel staff were very kind and welcoming. Advice: check ahead to see if any strikes are affecting service before you travel. They are very common in Europe. We’d always been notified in the past, but not this time. Expedia should do better to keep its customers informed."
"I really liked this hotel. We got a great room with a view of the water and it was on the corner, so we had windows on two sides. The location is great -- just a few minutes' walk away from the old parts of town and even walking distance from the train station.
The only downsides we experienced were that the room is a bit dark (this seems to be a common hotel theme), and there was a strike while we were there, so some of the stuff was closed. But the hotel workers deserve to make a living wage, so I hope they were successful."
