"Overall had a very pleasant stay. The lodge had great view of the valley. There's an overlook spot with amazing sunset while enjoying a beer. I also booked the all inclusive tour package through the hotel covering everything from airport pick-up/drop-off and guided tour to the rock churches & mountain top monetary. My guide Melese was great, with tons of knowledge about the cultural & religious tradition of Lalibela. Highly recommended. Btw, for bird lovers the lodge is also a great place for bird watching, particularly near the edge of the cliff before sunset where the beautiful Ethiopian bee-eaters can be spotted."

"I had an excellent stay at the Delano. The room was clean and had an excellent shower and hot water. The staff were very helpful, especially Gech who organised all my tours while I was there. "One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. The room was barren with fluorescent lighting that made it feel like a prison. It is old and falling apart. There was no hot water. The lock on the door fell into pieces and I was trapped in the room. At 7:30 p.m. the dining room and bar were deserted and the place felt like it was the setting for a Stephen King novel. Breakfast was inedible. The only redeeming feature was the staff who were friendly and apologetic for all of the problems. Microphones from the nearby church started chanting at 2:00 a.m. and went non-stop through the morning. This place is an embarrassment to the Haile hotel chain."

"Great service, huge villas, traditional dishes were very good. WiFi is so-so and only available in reception and restaurant. Nice big pool if you’re there when it’s hot enough. Hot water and huge showers. Incredible views and beautiful landscaping. "
