Oasis al Khiva Boutique Hotel Inside Citadel
10/10 Excellent
"A beautiful hotel in the middle of the old citadel. Fabulous renovation that has retained original features like the well that sits in the centre of the restaurant. Breakfasts are delicious with the chance to sample local food, as well as fruit, yoghurt and pastries. Location is brilliant, within the mud brick walls of the ichon-qala. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Reception are friendly and super helpful."
"I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Khan's palace. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the excellent service, the beautiful facilities, and the welcoming atmosphere. My room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, and every detail made the experience feel relaxing and enjoyable. The staff was incredibly kind, professional, and always ready to help with anything I needed.
I truly felt well taken care of throughout my stay. I highly recommend Hotel X to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and exceptional hospitality. I would definitely stay here again! The electricity went out for an hour: don't know if this the norm in Uzbekistan but it did not affect my stay."
"AVOID!!! This is a run-down hostel in a converted building vaguely masked with some bling to look like a hotel. Hanging wires in the corridor with empty (?) picture frames on the walls. Doors without proper locks and you can slide your hand under the door it’s so loose. There was no cold water and they couldn’t fix it. Breakfast was absolutely meagre and cold, they didn’t even have milk. Beds hard and uncomfortable. Silverfish in the bathroom. They have a kitchen block IN THE MIDDLE of the hotel next to bedrooms and the bangs and clanging of metal plates goes well past 2am with the staff running around and shouting at each other. The hotel is misrepresented online, they just take large groups which cannot escape once they arrive by coach. Not safe for female travellers. AVOID."
"Great choice for Khiva. Comfortable small hotel in a perfect location for exploring the old city. The in-house travel service can arrange rides and tours to all of the local sights. Highly recommended."
"Decent hotel in Khiva, although more rundown looking in person conpared to the pictures online. Kitschy architecture throughout. The room was large and clean, overlooking the pool, which was closed for the season (late November)"
