"All satisfactory with the hotel and room. Friendly receptionist staff (spoke excellent English). Room comfortable although bed was too short (and I’m only 172cm/5ft 7’ tall); and mattress was very hard. Avoid room 2 if you are taller than me. When this was raised with reception they said they’d investigate but didn’t get back to us. Breakfast satisfactory but limited on our first days as only 3 guests so food was ‘plated up’ rather than buffet. Excellent location on beach; quiet at night although beware that there are construction works at adjacent properties by day."
"Pousada Gauleses is a wonderful place to stay in Praia do Rosa. The staff is very helpful and polite. The Breakfast is amazing and the Location is great! It is very close to the Rosa Town Centre well known by “Centrinho”, which has most of the restaurants, Bars and Clubs. So, I really recommend Pousada Gauleses to anyone who wants to stay in a quite place which is close to the Rosa Beach but has nature around. "
"I didn't know what to expect when I booked my stay here for only a few days to try it out.
I was truly amazed by the incredible understated elegance of the place. The staff are amazingly proud of their dedicated service to the clients and if you look closely, you can see all the details laid out for you.
I found the meal service to be absolutely outstanding in variety and sophistication.
Although the place is old, worn and loved by many, the warm water is clean and high quality and worth exploring. The river and nature changes throughout the day. I found the sounds very relaxing and slept very well.
It is steeped in history and has a long list of dedicated pilgrims who come at least every year for a week or two and know each other and the staff. This is a real community that will welcome you.
If only I had booked a week or two, I could have experienced a deeper and longer relaxation and unwound from the stresses of everyday life.
I highly recommend the privilege to stay here as one of my favorite places I stayed on my trip. "
