Labadi Beach Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"THIS HOTEL HAS ONLY 1 PROBLEM IN THE LIGHT/RED WOOD SECTION. THE PLACE SMELLED OF MOLD. THE CARPET IN THE HALLWAY CARRIES A MOLDY SMELL. MY FIRST ROOM THERE IS MOLD IN THE BATHROOM TILES. MY ROOM WAS CHANGED BUT THE MOLDY SMELL PERSISTS. THE SMELL IS IN MY LUGGAGE. I WAS ALSO COUGHING ON OCCASSION. OTHER THAN THAT BEST SERVICE BEST STAFF BEST FOOD. KIND PEOPLE. THE MOLDY SMELL IS MY ONLY COMPLAINT. SO FOR ENVIRONMENT WHICH IS NOT A CHOICE IT IS A ZERO."
"Check-in took longer than expected. The receptionist seemed disengaged, with no eye contact and poor communication, though the process was smooth once the host ( Nana Ama) arrived."
"I really like the location, and the room was comfortable. But the restaurant was not great, the mosquitoes made the pool area unusable, and they charge a large fee ($100) for early check in. I would also appreciate a mosquito net."
"I had a wonderful stay and would gladly return! From the moment I arrived, Bharati, Perry, Michael, the security and most of the staff were warm, professional, and genuinely helpful, making my stay amazing and stress-free. The room was spotless, beautifully arranged, and very comfortable.
I appreciated the peaceful atmosphere throughout the property. The location was also very convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and dining options."
"My stay at Urbano Hotel left me with mixed feelings, but unfortunately one experience during checkout overshadowed what could have been a pleasant stay.
At checkout, the receptionist had to call someone to physically go and inspect my room before I could complete the process. In my opinion, if such procedures are necessary, they should be handled more discreetly so guests do not feel uncomfortable or distrusted.
What frustrated me most was the issue surrounding the water bottles. When I checked in, I was informed that water was complimentary. However, during checkout, the receptionist informed me, almost excitedly, that I had consumed two bottles of water and therefore owed 24 cedis. I was honestly shocked because I genuinely believed the bottled water provided in the room was complimentary, based on what I had been told earlier.
I was then informed that only the warm bottles of water placed on the desk were complimentary, while the cold ones inside the refrigerator were not. Honestly, that made very little sense to me. In Ghana’s heat, most guests will naturally reach for the cold water in the fridge rather than warm water sitting on a desk.
The bigger issue was the complete lack of communication and transparency. There was no visible price list, no minibar notice, and no explanation during check-in that the refrigerated water carried a separate charge of 12 cedis per small bottle. Without that information, the situation felt misleading and unnecessarily unpleasant.
