There's two metro stations five minutes walk away, 20 metres west of the hotel, a lovely local street for fresh groceries, bakery, cafes and restaurants. Minquan Road, parallel to the hotel has a brilliant two floor supermarket next to the Lawson's entrance.
It's an easy five minute walk to the pedestrian street and about fifteen minute stroll to Hongyadong. You can not beat it for accessibility. Shibati is also so close.
It's clear the hotel is managed well as the staff are cheerful and so accommodating.Absolutely needed are special mention of two staff in particular. Concierge Faye walked me to a local seamstress for clothes repairs and accompanied me to the Chongqing Traditional Medicine Hospital for acupuncture. That time was a beautiful interaction between two people from quite different cultures but highlighting that we do have so much in common.That night, she left a gift and note in my room that I still have. Hostess Yuki Yang in The Team Room helped me choose two green teas and we spent time in a private booth on the 8th floor talking all things tea ceremony, farming and local life. Through a translation app I found another sweet moment between guest and staff that reflected other reviewers' same opinion.
Top marks also to the doorman and a manager who called a lady to help me translate a Chinese brand of makeup from its English branding and even found the local store. Brilliant work guys."
"The room was very clean with lots of amenities. It was spacious and overlooked the river and Honga Cave. Service was great with free complimentary drinks and snacks. If I’m back in Chongqing I will stay here again."
