"I’ve stayed here multiple times now, and find the staff friendly. I like that you can’t get to your floor without a key, and more importantly they are pet friendly!"
"Valet and bellmen were great as always. Polite and helpful. The staff brought up an extra valet for my kids on the pullout couch. Great setup for family with kids! And the restaurant on the corner has the best coffee. We stay here every time we visit, can’t beat location, price and separate space from the kids!"
"The location was perfect for us adjacent to Northwestern Hospital. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, particularly the manager of the rooftop bar/restaurant. Lovely Spring sunset on the roof overlooking the downtown. Definitely will stay again"
"We had bagels and orange juice. It was ok. I was not aware I had to pay for parking, it should have been included since I am staying at their establishment. I had to remember to get a ticket out of the machine and have it validated every time I went in and out, unnecessary hassle. It's a nice place however it's next to the freeway so and rush hour it's noisy, I doubt their windows are sound proof. The beds are hard, should be not too hard not too soft. One big issue, we got a message saying they were working on the hot water and browish water would be coming out to just let it drain. Well, that's unsettling when you're trying to brush your teeth and take a shower. Kind of disappointing. "
Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown River North
6/10 Okay
"We booked through a third-party for four adults. We specifically booked what was listed as a two room suite. It turns out that the Hilton and Embassy along with Expedia, provide you with a TWO ROOM hotel not a two BEDROOM hotel, much to our surprise. So we had four adult women over the age of 50 attempting to share two double beds, all enclosed in one bedroom. When telling the front desk they put us in the wrong room, they put us in a new room that was identical to the first room. It appears that some of the staff did not understand the difference between “bedroom” and “room” and neither do the people that put together the website. It was beyond frustrating, yet there was nothing we could do about it without spending $400 a night for a second room. We chose to squish together and one of us took the sofa bed, which of course was highly uncomfortable. A day manager shared they get the bedroom complaint often but yet don’t do anything about fixing the website listing. The safe, phone and lamp outlets did not work, They sent someone up to do those repairs while we were gone. We came back and nothing was fixed. The AC was located in the bedroom and pretty much only kept the bedroom cool. The breakfast was fine. The happy hour was basically popcorn and drinks. And when contacting Expedia, who reached out at the hotel, we were offered a measly 5000 Hilton honors points for our trouble which equates to about $25. Now tell me how I’m going to split that with these four people…"
"Very clean and spacious! Friendly staff Generous breakfast tho coffee could be much better ditto tea…both like dishwater if British take t-bags! If coffee fan have elsewhere.
And no water in rooms after first night. Apart from those niggles beds very comfy enjoyable stay…roof top bar a must!"
"The pub below was nice to have and the rooms were clean. They were able to hold our bags for us when we got there and when we left with no extra charge. Our room was ready when we got there thanks to the online checking in. Check out was easy and there was almost always someone at the front desk. The only thing I didn’t like was no exhaust in the bathroom so it made the room hot, but we just turned the temp down."

"The hotel is beautiful and has very helpful staff. Room is not as nice as shown in pictures- feels a little musty and dark. The view is also not amazing at least from the lower levels.
However, it is a great place for a short visit and in a beautiful location."
