Staying here was very pleasant.
After checking in, we reserved one of the private baths (Reservations are for 45 minutes, and one reservation can be made at a time,) and headed down to the town to walk around. The walk from the hotel to the station at the bottom/central area of town is about ten or fifteen minutes. The town has small shops with local treats, but we only walked around it for two hours and felt like we weren't missing anything major.

Everything about this experience was top notch. From the staff (friendly and so very helpful) to the room (simply beautiful with amazing amenities) to the superb breakfast. Very pricey so definitely a once in a lifetime experience.
This is an excellent, upscale property that really takes good care of guests. The room we stayed in was very large, especially compared to normal Japanese hotels. The hot spring is well maintained, and the dinner was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Our stay at the Negiya Ryofukaku was nothing short of excellent. The staff were very professional and polite, accommodating both our very limited Japanese language skills and our request for a larger yukata (I'm apparently taller than the average guest). Though the room was on the smaller side, it was very fancy and had all the amenities and was well kept.

They called us a taxi when we needed to get our luggage to the airport and walk us down and waited in the cold with us for the taxi to arrive. Great service!
Must take the train car (not covered by JR) to this location from JR Sannomiya Station. 10 minute walk up a steep hill from the Arimaonsen Station to the hotel. This ryokan was truly extraordinary — hands down the best resort experience I've ever had. The onsens were incredible, with so many to choose from, each offering a different way to unwind. The kaiseki dinner was a highlight in itself — beautifully presented, course after course of exceptional food. Room service was thoughtful and attentive throughout our stay.

Hotel Goshobo truly envelops you in the history and tradition of a Ryoukan. The staff are super serious about their presentation and very very friendly. A stay here even for a single night is highly recommended.
The hotel should give notice to guests at reservation how to take shuttle bus from either bus station or train station to the hotel as the hotel is on a hill.
The staff were incredibly friendly. We got the breakfast and dinner. Dinner was a very nice 8 course meal with local soda options as well. They also set up our beds while we were at dinner. The hotel private onsen has silver and gold pools with both skin and hair products for use.
