"The place is good but needs some more building rehabilitation. The balcony fence at my room was broke and unstable, it is a potential danger to any client, including kids. The idea of preserve the building as it was builded is not bad, but even so this needs a better maintenance."
"Very good stay! Nice people breakfast excellent! Hotel is up from riverfront but easy walk down hill. Pull out bed not the most comfortable for an older person but overalll would stay again and do recommend"

"What I liked
1. staff smiles.
2. Staff were mostly helpful
What I did not like:
1. My security deposit is not returned yet after check out. The reception did not mention when it will be returned. I called them and they didn’t pick up the phone. They should inform me immediately .
2. The toilet water faucet at our room didn’t work properly
3. The reception did not pay attention to our online booking at 2pm. Our room was only ready one hour later."
"The hotel has a great location and clean and very well maintained. However, the one at the front desk does not speak a word of english so it was hard for us to understand each other plus the hallway because my room is in the 2nd building was so dark and creepy."
"Clean room, firm mattress. Fridge has mini-bar items for sale but enough room to store some of your own food. Microwave+2 burner stovetop, kettle. Great location: neighbourhood bars, breakfast cafe's, mini-grocery stores, close walk to the Duoro or other attractions (hilly of course). Room fairly small. Bathroom very crowded: a 5'8" person had knees fully crammed against sink cabinet on toilet; anyone taller would need to sit at an angle. Check in extremely disorganized: property emailed us warning no one might be at desk so we emailed back our arrival time but never received an access code. On arrival, we had to wait outside for cleaning staff to let us in after phoning the property's number. No idea what would have happened if we had arrived 10 minutes later after cleaning staff had left (2pm weekends/4pm weekdays). Required to pay room tax in cash (no cc) on arrival (this has happened at other Portug. hotels)."
