"Knocked my arm against the shower door while going to grab my toothbrush. Entire shower door shattered on top of me. I had small cuts up the right side of my body and was bleeding. Staff on site at the time was attentive and called a Dr. to ensure I was okay.
Next day owner then charged me hundreds for the shower door. I explained over and over the situation to the owner. They are supposed to ensure the room is safe for guests and clearly it was not safe. Again I barely touched the door and it shattered on top of me. Manager I spoke with claimed the glass door shattering had "never happened before". However when I came back to the hotel later in the day the front door of the hotel (also glass) was also broken.
Asked the owner, "So if I sat on a chair right now and it broke, you would charge me for the chair?". He said "no" as it would constitute as faulty equipment. I asked the owner why then he was charging me for the shower as it was his faulty equipment? He claimed over and over I was at fault, insinuated I was lying and slammed the shower door, and that I was required to pay him/not allowed to leave without payment.
Felt like he saw we were tourists and took advantage of me and the situation.
Extremely disappointed with my stay here. Would not label this hotel "family friendly" under any circumstance."
"Excellent helpful staff. Well stocked breakfast included. Clean comfortable rooms. Only minus is at time of visit, the air-conditioning wasn’t functional. The climate of Cusco is pretty mild, so not a deal breaker."
"Perfect location, nice spa amenities, great restaurant, and a good breakfast buffet. I really like the atrium area, a calming place to recharge after a day in the city. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!"
"The hotel was great. Clean, comfortable with excellent staff. Breakfast was fantastic exceeding expectations. The location was perfect for getting out for the day and close walking distance to the center of the old town. Would absolutely stay there again."
