Radisson Blu Hotel, Hamburg
4/10 Poor
"I was on an Easter visit to Hamburg with my three boys, and had chosen Radisson to ensure quality. But we were somewhat disappointed.
When we arrived, it turned out that the family room we had booked was occupied and we were therefore placed in a suite with a made-up sofa bed. Here, the staff had forgotten to put down duvets and pillows. We asked to have it fixed, but when they came they had only made up for one, why we still needed one.
The hotel advertises that it has a spa area. However, it is only open from 4-9 pm, even on public holidays, such as Easter in this case.
The hotel's breakfast buffet is clearly undersized for the size of the hotel, which is why the queue for breakfast is incredibly long.
Overall, I must say that it was a disappointing experience to visit Radisson in Hamburg."
"Spacious and clean room, nice products in bath, very comfy bed and bedding. Enjoyed the coffee maker and the bottled sparkling water as well. I appreciated being able to open the window. Airport noise was not an issue for me, but others might want to leave the window closed to achieve a quiet sleeping environment."
"The only comment is regarding the breakfast buffet. We were staying over Palm Sunday weekend and kids were on spring break - so the hotel was full of families with children. The buffet was always crowded. The first few days we went late to avoid the rush, but found out most of the items were not being replenished and those that were available had been picked over. Forget about waiting in line for a cooked egg or omelet. They only have one cook station and the line would stretch back into the other self serve sections. If I did stay there again I would not select the included breakfast rate and use the difference in money to go to a nearby cafe."
"My room was very clean. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast was fresh and offered lots of variety. Did not utilize parking, but the hotel is centrally located near various forms of public transportation. We were able to bike, bus, or use the rapid transit quite easily. This hotel is in a great location near many shops and cafes. I highly recommend and hope to return some day!"
