Carlton Hotel Buda Castle
8/10 Good
"Nice place reasonable price. Nothing special but a good place to come back to and sleep-staff seemed a bit frustrated when asking questions. Good location. Clean and good AC."
"Ideally situated hotel close to The Danube on the Pest side. The double room I had was plenty big enough for me as a single traveler, but may be a little cosy for two people. No proper storage place for clothes, but there is decent hanging area (take some additional hangers). Very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb. The amount I paid to stay five nights was extortionate, but this was for Champions League Final (so, sadly, to be expected). I would say around £130 per night including breakfast would be a reasonable sum to pay to stay here."
"The hotel has a great location, but unfortunately, our room was very old and not well-maintained. When we arrived, our bathroom had a bad smell, and the toilet had always-running water. We told the people at reception, and it was never fixed. My bath towel had a hole, and the next day I got a new towel, but it also had a hole in it. The room cleaning service consisted of just making your bed. Every day when we came back to the hotel, the bathroom was still the same, and they left a beer glass for 3 days... On my first day, I had no Kleenex (tissues), and they never replaced the empty box. Besides the great location, I will not recommend this hotel unless you are in your 20's and you don't mind these kinds of things. Mind you, this is supposed to be a 4-star hotel..."
"Beautiful hotel, with outstanding service, and great location. The rooms are spacious, spotless and very comfortable.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a superb stay."
"When you plan to visit this hotel You must lower your expectation and it is not about staff , it is about hotel policies and how property is maintained .Breakfast average , spa below average , GYM really bad , when you take a shower be ready for a flood ( I i stayed in3 different rooms thru my stay ), you must learn Hungarian in order to be able to communicate for basic requests"
"The Elizabeth Downtown Apartments were the perfect location for our first visit to Budapest. Check-in was completed online before arriving so we quickly received our key. The apartment was spacious with plenty of storage. We didn’t really use the kitchen except for morning coffee and cooling drinks. Even though we were in District VII which had lots of night life, the room faced the courtyard so it was quiet.
Breakfast was available with a voucher at either of 2 nearby restaurants. We tried them both and they were great.
The bathroom was a bit small but we enjoyed the heated towels and floor.
I would recommend a stay at this establishment."
"Great location for walking to attractions, and Metro just outside the door. They did not
offer the 20% off discount when I dined in their Cafe Astoria, but then again, I did not insist."
