The staff were very accommodating and hospitable.
We were late arriving, rang to let them know an ETA (9.30pm) and enquired if they were still serving food, they informed us that they had stopped serving food around 8 pm, but that they would cook for us on arrival, which was ideal (particularly for a family of 4, all hungry and tired)!
The food and beer were good. Couldn't fault it.
The pub and accommodation are very characterful. Parts of the building are over 500 years old. It may not be for everyone, but for our one-night stay, it was ideal.
The room was quite cold (this was late December, after all), but the heaters in the room(s) soon warmed us up.
We all enjoyed a hearty cooked breakfast in the morning, with good tea and coffee. Again, the staff were very attentive and gave us lots of options.
The only negative was a broken blind in the bathroom, which was situated next to the car park...it didn't feel fully private! All in all, a pleasant experience and stay.
