Mostly good, but severely angered by impossible-to-operate keypad on entrance door. „Reception“ is not a reception but an empty desk that remains unmanned 24/7. So be prepared for a difficult check-in. After that, all OK.

Toimiva kombo, ravintola itsepalvelumajoituksessa. Sisäänkirjautumisohje tuli ajoissa ja oli simppeli. Huone löytyi helposti. Sisäilma oli hiukan tunkkainen. Samassa rakennuksessa sijaitseva ravintola on avoinna klo 21.30 saakka ja kävimme siellä ruokailemassa päivän päätteeksi, ihan hyvät annokset.

The entire place is asynchronous, you can only communicate through management via email, if you do accidentally run into the staff aka the receptionist (who through our entire week-long trip we only saw once) will be very aggressive with you no matter what- she is rude and demeaning and is somehow surprised when people could possibly misunderstand instructions such as where to place their bags during check-in/checkout. Since the only information you have is an email that is written honestly kind of poorly. you would think staff in hospitality would know better than to talk down to people and treat them like scum.This would have been a four out of five hotel stay, but it's really wonderful how a single experience can turn something all around so unfortunately my rating is much lower than it could have been. I hope she has the day she deserves moving forward. Also PSA: In the instructions, if you say this small black door for luggage is *behind* the reception desk, it should actually be behind it, not in front of it, since we're talking about the hotel being asynchronous, they do take quite a long while to respond to any message. None of the pamphlets nor instructions nor wall postings are up to date. they claim to have daily housekeeping but is they deliver a bag of new supplies such as towels outside of your door there is no "actual" housekeeping happening within your hotel room until you leave your stay

This was such a disappointing hotel. When we arrived, our room was DISGUSTING. The sheets looked like they had not been washed, they were filthy with hair all over them. Our bathroom had mold, floss on the ground, dust and hair on the towels, and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned from the previous occupants. We went to the “front desk” to request a cleaning, and waited for one of the restaurant staff to clean it. She did what I would call a light cleaning, and then we went back in. Honestly , she just changed the sheets and wiped a few things down. It was still filthy. We gave the hotel a chance to correct the issue, and they didn’t. We ended up leaving and not staying the night. If you are expecting an internal lock, there are none. So if anyone has your code, they can just come in. This listing is misleading as well. The hotel is dark, dingy and dusty. The photos do not show the true nature of the hotel. We have been fighting with the hotel and Expedia to refund our booking, but neither have budged. It’s completely unacceptable that a room be that filthy, and even though we tried to give the hotel a chance to make things right, we are still being punished for not staying in a frankly disgusting place.

The staff were fabulous at helping me sort out an error I made with my booking. The room was very clean. Parking wasn’t an issue. There are good restaurants within walking distance. Quiet area for getting a good night’s sleep. Room size and twin single beds are European standard issue; North Americans like me need to adjust their expectations when travelling outside of their home countries - I’m familiar with European travel, but some may expect larger spaces and beds. Ideal for those wanting to be close to the airport and keeping costs down. If you’re staying longer, and want to be walking distance to more nightlife, vegetarian/vegan food options, and shopping, consider paying more to stay in Reykjavik nearer tourist areas. Our schedule was tight and we didn’t have time to check out the bar/restaurant there. But our stay was smooth and easy.
