Very comfortable and the location is ideal. Great restuarants, bakeries, bars, etc all within a block or three. Well worth it but there are a couple downsides. It's an older house so creaky floors, and its located on a busy road. No matter, we would stay here again for sure.

Wonderful “home away from home”

Wonderful location on Division near great eating and fun shops. Walking distance to Hawthorne atop! Like a classic “bed and breakfast.” bonus for long stays: free washer and dryer! Friendly staff, comfy rooms (tho we were in the basement, not the best view).

Soaking tub—yes please!

This spot is super cozy and Portland-chic. The historic home is beautifully maintained with some great modern additions. I loved soaking in the claw foot tub!

Respite during a crisis

Great place. Right in the midfle of busy SE Portland. Close to so many great restaurants & bars. shops yet a respite from the clamor of the neighborhood. Great 24/7 breakfast/snack items. Quiet, cozy room & great batroom. Lovely, older decor. Staff was friendly. Bluebird Guesthouse was a real lifesaver during a difficult time in Portland.

8/10 Very good

Great restaurants walking distance

Great location nearest excellent eateries on Crossing Street and fun shops. Wonderful sweet room. Only complaints is there was this creepy light that shined over the bed for a few minutes when you turned out the light --super creepy and the people in the house above us came in very late, like 2am, creeking about so awoken and for some of us, it's hard to go back to sleep. Wash available if your mid trip and need to wash your things. Super convenient and cozy.

4/10 Fair

The house is old and the stairs creak. I had a basement room and the noise was intrusive until about 11 pm. I would not stay there again because of this noise. They need to take remediative steps to make sure the steps and the floor do not make noise if they are renting basement rooms. I was very tired all day after trying to sleep there.

Charming and well designed remodel of an older Bungalow. We loved it, especially after meeting and speaking to the owner. Lots of choices of breakfast and snack foods. The room was comfortable and welcoming! Will return again!!

Very pretty house, lots of food options. A/C was very loud and didn't work great, but otherwise everything was great.

It’s my new home away from home! Slept like a rock in a comfy clean bed. Dark out curtains would have made it perfect!

Beautiful old house with full access to kitchen for do it yourself breakfast in lovely back porch. In great area with access to all you need. Parking can be a bit hard in late afternoon. Parking at night and in morning no problem. Would definitely return!

STAY HERE (but don't take my reservation!!!)

Okay, I hate doing this, because I don't want to be priced out of, or lose reservations to, this amazing property. It is an old school BnB in the true sense of the word. Each room is named after an author, and I was beyond pleased to stay in my childhood favorite author of all time's room!! AND THEY HAVE AVAILABLE THE RELEVANT READING MATERIAL!!!! The furnishings are lovely. Appropriately weathered so as to give an "antique" experience, but not so precious you feel like you're ruining a precious object by using it for it's intended purpose. Really beautifully appointed. The breakfast provided gave quite a variety of options. THE SERVICE IS UNPARALLELED! Special shout-out to Becca and Erika (yeah, fellow Aquarians!) and Chris, who really made my stay great. This is located on a fairly busy street, with lots of amazing shops, eateries, and a few dive bars nearby, but I was there from Saturday until Thursday, and never had a problem with noise (things quieted down by 9p). If it is possible to have a crush on a property, then I definitely do!!
Second room I stayed in - The Ken Kesey. A bit smaller, but totally snug as a bug, tucking down into the eaves, with the skylight above me. <3
READING MATERIALS!!! And I actually went on the walk described in the book - TO KLICKITAT STREET!!!!!
View out on to Division Street
Lovely armoire that easily accommodated all my hanging items!

Bluebird Guesthouse is exactly as described. I had an issue with my room as I thought I had booked a room with an en-suite bathroom (per Expedia message). However, upon check in this was not the case. Tiffany and Chris were so helpful and it worked out that a room with en-suite bathroom was available and they were able to move me over. I was so thankful for their help! Next time I will book directly through the property. Otherwise, they had great breakfast options readily available. Other guests was so respectful and quiet at appropriate hours. I was able to find street parking in the neighborhood. And there are so many fantastic restaurants, coffee and dessert shops within easy walking distance. I would stay here again.

We stayed for 8 days at the Bluebird Guesthouse. I really like staying in a house rather than a hotel. There is plenty of food available for breakfast in a real kitchen. It is nice to be in a quiet house with no radio or tv blaring. There is internet access, but we used it only as necessary. There is a bookcase with books and games in the living room. We played Scrabble and Bananagrams and had a hilarious time playing the Office trivia game. We were in the Gabriel Marquez room, the room on the first floor with a fireplace room right outside it. It was spacious and clean. The clawfoot tub was a bit difficult to climb in and out of, but the shower was good. The handle for the hot water is loose and fell off several times, but it still operated. I would stay here again.

Gem in Portland Area

LOVED staying in this 1910 guesthouse! Craftsman style architecture, plenty of built-ins, clawfoot tub, sky-light window to fall asleep under…the house definitely displayed its age but well-kept and clean! Our bathroom was literally next to our room, which I wasn’t thrilled with at first, but really didn’t mind as the house was pretty quiet and private. Breakfast options were the best around and staff was friendly. I’m more of a private person, so the self-check in and check-out were perfect, and we were able to eat by ourselves in the enclosed porch area. I could see street parking might be an issue on busier nights, but we had no problem finding a space, and even if you have to walk, it’s worth it. Thank you!

Right in the heart of my favorite part of Portland. Comfy beds, very clean, cozy homey rooms. Really everything one could need. My only complaint is the A/C in the Kinsey room is loud. But in the middle of summer, you need to have it on.
