We'd originally decided to stay for the better part of a week, however, our initial room became flooded because someone had turned on the water in the room above us and checked out. Luckily,.we hadn't unpacked most of our items, so the inundating waterfall that flowed from the vents above us only managed to dampen our spirits.
Oddly enough, the female security guard ended up being our guardian angel as she went from floor to floor in search of a room that would be a little more suitable for our stay. She moved us twice as each room seemed to be missing a major item (microwave, refrigerator, working television, working phone). Finally, we constructed our own room by simply moving all the working items into one room and considering yet, another room as unsuitable.
The staff stated that we couldn't move to another room and even suggested that we stay in the initial room after it dries out. The entire hotel had about a 25% fill rate Tte staff finally offered a refund but advised it would come from Hotels.com within two to three days.
We then, spent a few hours on escalated calls as customer service members bounced our call from one person to another as they read teleprompter scripts that failed to answer our questions. Finally, we were promised a refund.... that would take up to,30 days to recover.
Although we'd prefer to forget this trip, we have to keep the dates in mind so as to be sure that we search for the refund in 30 days...
