The room itself was excellent. However, It was like Walmart to check in with maybe 10 check-in desks and only two reception people working Friday in the afternoon. The hotel is very difficult to navigate if you’re trying to get out to the street or to find coffee. The Illy coffee bar was closed the Friday, Saturday and Sunday we were there. But it was very interesting that the hotel was part of the GM renaissance center. And the proximity to the river was nice. Our room had an excellent view of the river and the city.

Bed bugs, rooms double booked, blocked exits
It was terrible!
From checking - rude staff. Several people at our conference had bed bugs in their room; others entered dirty rooms; some others had strangers trying to access their rooms after rooms were double booked.
I had no trash cans in my room.
To make matters worse, a grease fire in the kitchen on the top floor was initially dismissed by staff as regular cooking smells. When the building was evacuated, some of the stairwells and passageways were difficult to pass through and in one case, the fire exit door was locked. The fire marshal needs to go and check out the building and I am horrendously disappointed with Marriott where I stay on a frequent basis perhaps no more.

Great location to downtown. Average amenities, only one hotel restaurant and bar. No coffee maker in the room, so have to go 20 floors down to get a coffee. Room was comfortable and clean with impressive views of the river and skyline.
