At the White House is a truly unique hotel. It's classic and has been well maintained and clean. The staff is also very helpful; for example, one staff member recommended places to eat and activities to do in town.

I really enjoyed my stay! Upon arrival I was provided with loads of helpful information to enhance my stay. They even assisted with letting me keep my luggage there until time to board the ferry. The room was so beautiful and comfortable, actually the whole property was!

Property is historic. Chelsea is a fabulous host and the property is just far enough away from the more touristy areas so that it is serene. That it is around the corner from Skagway Spirits Distillery doesn’t hurt either. 😉

Quirky place with very nice staff and it was exceptionally clean. Seemed expensive for the quality and layout of the room and no breakfast included but I guess that happens in a cruise town. Configuration of my room ( twin single) was awkward due to the small space. Bedside tables were out of reach and difficult to watch tv from one of the beds.

At the White House was perfect for my brief stay in Skagway. It's within walking distance to "downtown" and all of the sights/restaurants/etc. Staff was wonderful and easy to work with. The room is quiet, clean, and comfortable. Although the building itself is old, all of the fixtures (electrical, plumbing, etc.) is updated. Highly recommended!

I can't rave enough about Chelsea and The White House. If you're coming into Skagway to stay for a day or two, this is a location to check out. It's down the street enough to avoid some of the cruise ship passenger mob, while still easy walking to prime spots on Broadway, the main drag. Chelsea will make your stay that much better with her willing, cheerful assistance. While there, don't miss Husky Tales on 5th to meet an Iditarod champion and cuddle husky puppies and Aurora Yarns of Alaska for the most amazing wool in the world from Musk Oxen.
