Here’s the revised version with that key detail included and still under 1500 characters:
We stayed at Grand Sierra Resort and had a frustrating experience, especially during checkout. The night before, we asked for a 1-hour late checkout to align with our 14-month-old’s nap and were told no because they were “busy.” Do they clean all rooms at once? Doubtful.
The next morning, we started trying to get a luggage cart around 10:30 AM. Calls didn’t go through, texts to the automated system were ignored, so I walked down to the bell desk. I got a reply saying 30 minutes. We waited over an hour before finally seeing a bellman—but he was helping someone else. He let us know we were never even on the waitlist despite being told we were next. He called it in and left to help others, and we kept waiting.
Then someone was checked into our room while we were still waiting and it hadn’t been cleaned. I went back down, spoke to a manager who seemed overwhelmed and not very apologetic. Someone finally came about 15 minutes later, took our bags, and I returned the cart myself after loading up my cart.
Positives: the pool is always fun, staff are mostly friendly, rooms are clean though some of the fabric furniture had stains. Chickie and Pete’s is a great sports bar with generous and quality crab legs.
For what we paid, things should run much smoother. Very disappointing. Do better.
